Lockyer Valley Netball Association Inc. Ladies, Mixed, Junior and Representative Netball based in Gatton at Cahill Park Sports Complex

LVNA has a rich history within the Lockyer Valley and has been serving the community by providing social and competitive netball competitions for players of all ages and genders. Our programs cater for children 5 - 13 years starting in our NetSetGo program (Saturday mornings, March – September) all the way to our young at heart, 13 years + in our Open Senior competition for both ladies and mixed (

Wednesday evenings, January – July, August – December). We also compete in wider competitions within the Darling Downs Region and have teams compete at State Competitions. We offer opportunities for members to excel within the sport as players, umpires, coaches, managers and volunteers, both within our local competition and leading into further advancements within the sport. Our community based association provides an affordable sporting avenue for people of all ages to become involved, meet some new people, learn some new skills and have a lot of fun.

Next Up, Ashleigh Zischke!

WORDS FROM THE COACH
After taking a break from netball Ash is back this year and she has hit the ground running in every sense of the word. Her work ethic is second to none and because of this she has improved out of sight this year. This work ethic and her excellent athleticism give her such a bright future with her netball, and I believe there truly is nothing she cannot achieve if she puts her mind to it.

Every week we give Ash a new challenge and every week she meets it head on and finds new ways to improve.

She is a driving force in our midcourt but more importantly I feel she is the glue that holds us all together. Even on days when she cannot play with the rest of the squad, she is always there in support and we’re always better for having her around. She is relentlessly bright and bubbly around our team and she brings a spark to every training and game day that cannot be replaced or replicated.

We’re very lucky to have you back Ash and we can’t wait to see what this year's carnival looks like with you as a part of it.

💛🖤 INTRODUCING OUR JUNIOR STATE AGE PLAYERS 🖤💛

Next Up, Maddison Cluff!

WORDS FROM THE COACH

On her second state age campaign this year Maddie is expanding her role this year and taking on the challenge as one of our primary circle defenders.

Her tenacity and determination making her a real pest for attackers from all over. She is extremely nimble and light on her feet and quick with her hands making her a dangerous combo with the rest of our defensive unit. While not coming in with a mountain of experience Maddie has developed extremely well this year and is excited to continue to expand her role within the team.

Off the court she is an absolute character. Always scheming and up to some sort of mischief with one of her many partners in crime. She brings a sense of joy and light heartedness to the team that helps to lighten the load when the days feel heavy for the rest of the team. Never taking herself too seriously she is always a timely reminder that netball is just as much about who you are off the court and not just while you’re playing.

It’s been a pleasure working with her so far and I’m excited to see how this year plays out on court for her after finding so much joy in her netball this year. Good Luck Maddie!

Next Up, Ivy Mellon!

WORDS FROM THE COACH

Another one of the girls back for a second stint at JSA, Ivy was one of the girls locking down the 2025 defence but is now getting buckets in the GS bib. A decision before trials to switch things up and try something new is really beginning to pay off.

A testament to all the hard work she continues to put in behind the scenes Ivy has built a strong foundation as a holding shooter using her height and strength to give us a completely new look for our attacking unit.

While she is all about the buckets now, she is also always willing to lend a hand back in her old home at GK or in any other role we ask of her around the court.

Ivy has such a great work ethic and passion for netball that as she continues to develop in the shooting circle, she will be a tough task for defenders everywhere in short time. Not only do her shoes shine but also her bright and cheerful personality ensures she is a pleasure to have with the team.

Keep shooting for the stars Ivy and best of luck this year.

🖤💛 JUNIOR STATE AGE PRE CARNIVAL WRAP UP 🖤💛

The girls took to the courts in Toowoomba today in their final JSA pre carnival hit out. Up Against some very strong competition the girls got a real taste for Carnival intensity.

While the results for the day didn’t go our way. The commitment and passion that the girls displayed today showed us that netball is more about Friendship, Growth, Development and that trusting your teammates and working together to achieve your goals even when things don’t go your way is more important than the match results

This wonderful group of young ladies always give it everything and play with a smile on their face against any odds and every challenge.

The team did themselves and the Association proud today and we cannot wait to see how they apply the lessons learned today at the State Age Carnival in a few weeks.

Rest up ladies. Ice the bruises and get ready to do it all over again 🖤💛💪👸

After having her JSA campaign cut short last year with a broken ankle. Isla is back in 2026 and a completely new player.

Once a defensive anchor she has taken on the challenge of switching things up to the attack end to help give our team some much needed balance. While it hasn’t always come easy Isla has unlimited natural ability and along with a lot of extra effort has settled into the role extremely well. As her shot continues to develop, she still scores easily as her timing and attacking instincts are sensational. Her defensive instincts however have never left her and she is always happy to help out all over the court when required which as a coach is a dream to have up your sleeve.

She is a tall and gifted athlete who is capable of so many things on court that escape others her age. The very first day I saw Isla play I remember thinking this young lady has got it and that opinion has never changed. Her potential is limitless and as she continues to grow into it, she is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Isla has a cheeky and carefree nature and is always up for a good time. She is always around to keep me on my toes and make sure I don’t get too comfortable. There is never a dull moment when Isla is around the team and it’s one of the things I enjoy most about her. I really cannot wait to see what Isla brings to this year's carnival and beyond with her netball future

Back for round 2 this year Soph missed last year's carnival due to injury. Her determination this year paired with her commitment to her strength and conditioning has put her in an incredibly strong position to show the competition what she’s made of this year.

Soph is a dynamic and powerful player whose game really packs a punch. She’s a strong and reliable mid court player who loves a battle. Her determination is undoubtably her greatest asset. She looks every challenge in the eye and refuses to give up until she comes out on top. This relentless nature is always an asset to any team and ours is no exception.

This year hasn’t been all smooth sailing for her however her bright and bubbly personality paired with her fierce determination ensures she is coming in hot to state age and ready to make her presence felt and I for one could not be prouder. With Soph on our side we guarantee no team will out work us on the court and because of this anything is possible for our team.

Holding things down in defence, Sav is an athletic powerhouse. Her incredible jumping ability, speed, and overall athleticism make her a dynamic and disruptive force on court.

She has an exceptional netball IQ and an impressive ability to read the play as it unfolds. The experience she gained from last year’s carnival has made her an invaluable asset to our team, while her versatility and midcourt experience give us a true “Swiss Army knife” player who can adapt to any challenge thrown our way.

Sav’s playful and relaxed personality helps her stay calm under pressure, and her willingness to take risks is one of my favourite parts of her game. She never backs down from a challenge and no obstacle is too large for her to overcome.

We’re incredibly excited to see what this year’s carnival has in store for her, and we’re expecting big things from her not only this year but in her netball journey for years to come.
