Here are five violent life-saving points to focus on for self-defence and protection:
Surprise the Attacker – In a violent encounter, your best chance is often to strike when the attacker least expects it. Use their moment of hesitation or distraction to your advantage, launching a fast, decisive strike that targets vulnerable areas like the eyes, throat, or groin.
Neutralize Threats Immediately – Quickly end the threat by targeting weak points of the body such as the throat, eyes, and knees. A strong strike to these areas can disrupt the attacker’s ability to continue their assault, buying you critical time to escape or gain control.
Stay on Offense – Don’t wait for an attacker to make the first move. Maintain control of the situation by staying aggressive in your defense. This keeps the attacker on the defensive, giving you the upper hand.
Control the Weapon – If the attacker is armed, controlling the weapon is crucial. Use quick, deliberate moves to disarm them, ensuring you gain control of their weapon to either use against them or neutralize the threat.
Escape Over Engagement – The ultimate goal in a violent situation is survival. If you can’t subdue the attacker or gain control, escape is the best option. Use the opportunity created by your counterattacks to create space and flee to safety.
These strategies focus on immediate, decisive actions to protect yourself recognizing that in violent self-defence, your life may depend on acting quickly and effectively.
