Bushrangers Unicycle Hockey team shirts.
We are going to place an order for individual team shirts for anyone who wants to buy one. You can see examples in the photo (the blue and white striped shirts).

Hello Unicycle Hockey players,

Four interstate (or larger) hockey tournaments are planned for 2026. The first Australian tournament will be in Tuggeranong on 11 and 12 April 2026.

It will be full-day on the Saturday, and half-day on the Sunday. We will also go out for a meal on the Saturday evening.

The cost for participating is $55 each, this covers hall hire and insurance but not the meal. You can book and pay here. Please book at https://www.trybooking.com/DJSBO, and pay soon, as it helps the tournament organisation. Everybody who turns up planning to play in a hockey game must pay, as this is needed to cover the cost.

If you are playing with the Canberra team, please say you are playing for the 'bushrangers' team.
You will be asked how many people you are bringing to the Saturday evening meal; this will help us make a suitable booking.

Unicycle Hockey Tournament, Melbourne, 19 and 20 July.

Hello hockey players , the Victorian hockey tournament is confirmed and you can get details at www.trybooking.com/DCKUL

This is GREAT news, as the Victorians have been dealing with tricky hall challenges, which can be really hard to manage.

Everyone who intends to play in a game needs to book and pay by clicking on the ‘book now’ button on this website, fill in the details and pay, (just over $45 each). Anyone coming only to watch does not need to pay.

Booking and paying is important, because the hall hire is really expensive and if you don’t pay your share, then someone else will have to pay for you. Please pay soon if you are coming as that helps the organisers.

Timing
Mike and Cathy will be driving to Melbourne on Friday 18 July.

Saturday evening meal
On the Saturday evening there will be a group meal out somewhere.

When you book you will be asked if you are taking an extra person with you to the meal: if you are taking more than one person with you, please click on ‘contact event organiser’, or let Mike know.

Accommodation
You can make your own arrangements for accommodation, or…

Mike & Cathy have booked an Air B&B in Doncaster (20 minutes drive away), for Friday and Saturday nights. It can sleep up to 8 people across 4 bedrooms but all the beds are doubles or Queens. We can bring a couple of spare single mattresses if people want to share a room. Each room will cost $146 covering the 2 nights: this is cheap for Melbourne (unless you have a friend to stay with!)
If you would like to share the house with us please get in touch: first come, first served. (We have already bagged one of the rooms!)

Vale Luke Leckemby
We are shocked and very sad to advise that one of our members: Luke Leckemby has died at the age of 32, following a lung infection.

Luke first joined the club in 2008 when he was 15 years old. He was one of the most talented unicyclists our club has ever seen- Luke was remarkably fearless- he would attempt and achieve tricks that most people were too scared to even think of trying. He participated in the 2010 Uninats, performing extremely well against the most experienced trials riders.

We were so pleased when Luke returned to the club a couple of years ago. He had faced a lot of health challenges in the intervening years but he got himself a beautiful new uni and came along when he felt well enough. He was gradually getting fitter and enjoyed meeting other unicyclists and showing people some of his tricks. He was also riding out and about in his own Belconnen community.

Luke’s funeral is scheduled for Thursday 22 May at 10:30am at the Salvation Army Church in Scullin. His family would love some current or past unicyclists who attended the club with Luke to come along and bring along their unicycles in his memory. Mike and Cathy will definitely attend. If you are also planning to come please let us know as his parents will need numbers for catering.
