Information for anyone coming or interested in joining Shaka this weekend! Event has been confirmed for Saturday 21st March! 🤙

After some deliberation with the Shaka Head Honchos the 2026 Wedge Island Shaka will be held on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁.

Forcasts predict some sizey swell coming through over the weekend, unfortunately it is bringing the Southerly with it.

For now it looks like the wind should be reasonably light in the morning, so hopefully we are able to find a good protected bank somewhere to hold the event.

The final location will be assessed on the morning of. Lookout for signs in the parking area before the beach for directions of where to go.

Wedge Island Shaka 2026 is less that 2 weeks away! Get your entry in ASAP!

📣 Event Day: Saturday 21 OR Sunday 22 March (final call based on conditions, announded on the SUPWA page)
📍On the day, SUPWA will confirm the exact location within the reserve after assessing the sandbanks for the best event spot.
🚙 4WD access only (However, attendees can park near the fishing shacks and flag down a lift from fellow attendies if needed.)
🚫 No dogs

Longboard SUPs preferred, but any board can enter. No knockouts — everyone surfs twice, with rookie divisions for those new to SUP. Perfect if you’re new to the sport or a seasoned shredder.
