You don’t go to the gym to get good at the gym, you go to the gym so that you can get good at the stuff outside of the gym

The stuff like chasing your kids, going for hikes, making sure you can ski on your trip to Japan (who isn’t in Japan this year?!)

If you’re over 40 and think HIIT is “bad for you”… read this.

HIIT gets a bad rap for people over 40 and honestly, that’s a shame.

Because the problem isn’t HIIT itself.
It’s how most gyms program it.

Too many workouts are:
• Overly complex
• Too intense
• Done 4–6 times a week
• Designed to look cool on Instagram

That’s when people burn out, get injured, and think HIIT “doesn’t work anymore.”

Training in your 40s and 50s is different to training in your 20s, and that’s not a bad thing.

Smarter HIIT looks like:
• Simpler movements
• Slightly lower frequency
• Intensity you can recover from
• A focus on long-term progress, not punishment

You still get the fat loss.
You still get fitter.
You just don’t end up with cranky knees and a sore lower back.

The biggest surprise for most is the dramatic change in how they show up mentally and emotionally in life once they start training

In a recent chat with Julie who has been at Blinco Built for a couple of years she said the biggest changes she'd noticed:

Day in the life of a gym owner

Anyone that struggles to sit down, loves some variety and thrives under pressure and lives to help people

Not a bad gig

A lot of risk, but everything is risky, not doing what you love is the biggest risk I think

That doesn’t me I love every second of every day

Or that I don’t stay up at night staring at the ceiling sometimes

It’s part of it

But you know, someone once said to me (lots of people said this to me), if you start a business you’ll never have a day you won’t think about it

There’s no time off

And it’s true, but then, I love thinking about it

I guess it’s just the way you decide to look at it

If it’s worthy and making a difference why wouldn’t you want to think about it

That’s just my opinion anyway
