JUNIOR PENNANTS FINAL ROUND
DIV 3 GIRLS WIN!!!
Being able to side only 4 players out of 5, our Division 3 Girls side were on the back foot all season. But this clearly didn't stop them! A fantastic 3-2 win last week in the semi-final put them in the grand final to play against the South West side. With a walkover loss at position 5, the 4 girls brought home 3 wins and a half to win 3.5-1.5! Wins coming from Taehoo Woo, Dempsey Brown and Stephanie Kerr, with a great half coming from Megan Hill. What an astonishing result from these 4 girls all season to not only put forward so much competition but to win the flag with just 4 players. Not to forget, this is the first season of pennants for all of these girls! From all of us here at Royal Fremantle, we couldn't be prouder of these 4 girls on their first season, and we are so excited to see how quickly they are all progressing. Once again, congratulation girls 🏆
Div 1 Boys -
This round was also a final for our Div 1 Boys, playing against Gosnells on their home track for the top spot on the ladder. Unfortunately, the Gosnells side got the better of RFGC, winning with a tight score of 2-3. It was always going to be tough taking on the Gosnells side around their home track, especially having to give up some shots with handicaps. But our boys gave it their all and produced the best result we have seen from our Div 1 Boys in recent years. These are very promising signs for our Junior sides as well as our senior sides. We are extremely proud of the effort and results these boys have produced this season. Bigger and better next year!
Div 2 Boys -
Whilst the Div 2 side weren't in contention for any flags, they were still fighting for 2nd spot on the ladder if things went their way. A nice 4-1 win meant they did all they could for the day, but with the South West side also winning, it left our Div 2 Boys 3rd on the ladder. Which is certainly nothing to complain about! The Lake Karinyup side went undefeated all season, so it was always going to be hard to overtake them. Regardless, a great season from our Div 2 side, which fielded a number of debutants. More things to come next year we are sure!
Div 3 Boys -
With the Div 3 Boys side already winning the flag last week, they had a very comfortable round yesterday, not having to worry about anyone overtaking them! Yet, they still produced that strong form they have all year, winning once again 4-1 and going undefeated all season. A fantastic result once again in our lower divisions, showing the great depth we have here at Royal Fremantle. Couldn't be prouder of these boys!
So in the end, we had 2 flags, a 2nd and a 3rd. Which really is fantastic. We are so proud at Royal Fremantle to not only be able to side 4 teams, but for them to all wear the badge proud and produce the results they have. Thank you to all players, parents, volunteers and members who showed their support throughout the season. Not to forget the sponsors who make all of this possible.
We can't wait to see some of these young guns show us what they got in the senior seasons!
