The growth in our Women’s section meant we could enter a THIRD TEAM this year… and did they deliver! 👏🏑

🥉 Finished 3rd
🏑 Made finals
💪 Gave it everything

New players to the club.
Players returning to the club.
Juniors stepping up and getting their first taste of senior hockey.

A whole lot of new faces, familiar faces, laughs, learning and plenty of hockey along the way — it’s been brilliant watching this team grow throughout the year.

There were wins, losses, questionable moments and probably a few “what are we doing?” conversations… but most importantly, there was plenty of Stingray spirit. 😜

Well done, Women’s Metro, on a fantastic season! 👏

You’ve helped show just how much our women’s section is growing, and we can’t wait to celebrate you all at Presentation Night. 🥂

Saturday night = friendships, fun, a few questionable decisions… and JT’s playlist. 😳😂

What a season — finishing with a very tidy 75% Grand Final win ratio.

Or, in the slightly altered words of Meatloaf:

Three Grand Final wins from four. We’ll take that. 🏆🏆🏆

Massive effort from the whole Stingray family — on the pitch, around the pitch and, most importantly, around the canteen! 😂

Plenty of laughs. Plenty of memories. And probably a few stories best left out of the season review. 👀

🏆 MEN’S METRO 1 — 2026 PREMIERS 🏆

2 IN A DAY.
Because apparently one premiership just wasn’t enough. 😮‍💨💙💛

Still riding the MVLR high, the Stingray fever rolled into Moorabbin and straight into another Grand Final.

And the boys delivered.
🔥 3–0 WIN over Collegians 🔥

Nigel was clearly feeling the pressure after Jordan officially crowned him our “Blake Govers lookalike”… then promptly backed it up with TWO drag flick goals. 😂

Coincidence? We think not. 🤌🏽

Huge congratulations to the whole Metro 1 crew on an absolute belter of a season. You kept the vibe high, played some bloody good hockey and finished the job when it mattered.

And to every Stingray who made the trek, yelled from the sidelines and helped turn the State Hockey Centre AND Moorabbin into little slices of Frankston — YOU LEGENDS. 💙💛

Gorgeous conditions, a tough Werribee side and the boys getting the job done 4–3 to bring home the flag! 💙💛

Plenty of grit, plenty of hockey and just enough chaos to keep the Stingray faithful on the edge of their seats. 😂

💪 WVLR — HARD FOUGHT. HEADS HIGH. 💪

WHAT. A. SUNDAY. 💙💛

The men came out swinging with a cracking 4–2 victory, booking their spot in the GRAND FINAL! 🔥

The women? Well… they certainly didn’t make it easy. 😤
After 68 minutes of game time ending in 0–0, it went to the dreaded shootout, where they eventually went down 2–0.

Absolutely gutting — but what a ripper season from the WVLR crew. 👏 Time for these cray cray girls 😜 to swap sticks for hot springs, put the feet up and enjoy a very well-earned rest. ♨️😎

And THE CROWD. 🥹
What a turnout for our Ressies! The noise, the energy and the support from the sideline gives the players an absolute lift. That’s what Stingrays are all about. 💙💛

One team through. One team finished with nothing left in the tank. Both teams made us proud. 💙💛
