The Leongatha & District Cricket Association held its 2026 AGM on Wednesday night, with all clubs represented.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed as we prepare for the 2026/27 cricket season.

The LDCA sincerely thanks outgoing President John Schelling for his service, leadership and contribution to the Association.

We also thank all retiring Committee of Management members for the time and commitment they have given to cricket throughout the LDCA.

The position of LDCA President remains vacant, along with four Ordinary Committee positions.

We encourage anyone within the LDCA cricket community who may be interested in getting involved to contact the Association. There is a strong Committee in place, with responsibilities shared across the COM.

🏏 WELCOME BACK POOWONG/LOCH CC!

We are very pleased to welcome Poowong/Loch Cricket Club back to LDCA senior cricket after three seasons in recess.

The club has reformed its committee and nominated a senior team for the 2026/27 season. It is fantastic to have Poowong/Loch back!

🏏 ALL ONE-DAY CRICKET IN 2026/27

A significant change for the upcoming season will see all LDCA senior grades move to one-day cricket, with A Grade, B Grade and C Grade all playing one-day formats.

The COM will now finalise competition structures, fixtures and playing conditions, with further information to be provided to clubs shortly.

There is plenty to look forward to as we prepare for the new season and begin implementing the recommendations of the LDCA Strategic Plan.

Thank you to all our clubs, players, volunteers, umpires, officials and supporters for their continued contribution to cricket across our region.

Foster Cricket Club is thrilled to welcome Jake Cochrane to the club.

Jake is a massive addition to our line up@ for the 2026/27 season, bringing more than a decade of A grade experience. Jake is quality off spin bowler and aggressive top order bat who has represented the league regularly at both country week and gcl.

Time to dust off the cricket kit, roll an arm over and get ready for another great season!

We’re excited for 2026/27, with the introduction of C Grade as well as A2, a new coach and some fresh faces around the club. 😊

We know pre-season can be a challenge when there are a couple of handy footy teams in the neighbourhood, so we’re starting with Sunday morning nets.

New & old players are welcome to come down to the rooms Sundays at 10.30am & let’s give ourselves the best chance for a great season.

Foster Cricket Club are saddened to hear of the passing of Chris Aitken. A long term legend, member and player of our Club. Chris was instrumental in winning the Centenary Year Premiership in 1977-78

Our thoughts are with Chris’ family and friends.

Vale Tony Vanin

If there was ever a problem at the club, the answer was pretty simple – ask Tony

Tony was the person who was always there. Whether as a player, committee member, grounds and maintenance volunteer, or simply a supporter and friendly face around the club, he quietly gave his time and energy to the Foster Cricket Club.

Tony got on with the job, supporting those around him, and stepping in whenever asked - he never sought recognition; he was a person everyone could count on.

Tony's contribution to the Foster Cricket Club spans decades. As a Life Member, player and long-serving Secretary, President, Vice President and Committee Member, he helped shape the club both on and off the field, in the good times and not so good.

Tony is a respected pillar of the Foster Cricket Club. Our thoughts are with Tony's family, along with his many friends and colleagues.

Rest easy, Tony. You will be greatly missed

Every great season starts with a great team behind the scenes –

Our AGM was a huge success on Sunday and momentum is continuing for the 2026/27 season.

Congratulations to the newly elected Foster Cricket Club Committee - there is already a lot of activity underway as they investigate new uniforms, new players and new sponsors 😊

A huge thank you to the crew who have stepped forward. Led by Owen, the team is set to guide our club through what promises to be an exciting year both on and off the field.

Speaking of on the field …. This photo may look ordinary to you, but it is exciting to us…. Proof of our new drainage working in the recent wet weather conditions – huge thanks to the South Gippsland Shire Council grants program for making this happen.

This is an exciting era for the club, and we’d love to see players, supporters, families and community members come along and be part of it.

The FCC committee is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ryan Williams as A Grade Captain/Coach for the 2026/27 season.

Ryan brings strong experience and enthusiasm to the role and is the perfect fit to continue building the momentum gathering around the club ahead of next season.

We are also excited to confirm the return of a C Grade side, to be captained by Neil Henry. Neil is well known around the club for his years of cricket knowledge and will bring a calm and steady leadership style to the team.

With both A Grade and C Grade sides confirmed, along with U13 & U15, for 2026/27, there is plenty of excitement and energy building for a great season ahead.

Both captains welcome new and returning players, supporters and volunteers to get involved as preparations begin for the upcoming season.
