Seven days ago I ran the first time ever more than 20k’s exactly 33km. Today my first marathon distance 🥵 wtf…
Mentally and physically one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The voice in your try’s to fu*k with you the whole time. Already within the first ten k’s my hip started hurting and the voice starts talking “it’s too hot today, you shouldn’t run in that heat, if your hip hurts now that much can you imagine how hart it’ll hurt in 20, 30, 40 km” and so on. Honestly, the pain at the end of the 42km wasn’t different to the beginning of the run.
An old Man is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”
He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Man simply replied, “The one you feed.”
