What a great first week we had back after the Christmas break with 3 Forest District Cricket Club winners of the Madtoppings Forestville Player(s) of The Week Award.

We had Felix from the Under 13's who took an "insane" catch at point and best bowling of the season for him to help the team stay in the running finals next month.

Next we had Josh in the U15's who had a cracking innings of 25 off 27 balls with the bat followed up by some very sharp wicketkeeping against the top of the table team and helped his team get the win for the day by 3 runs !!!

Last but least - Miles from the U10's who batted with maturity beyond his years demonstrating great patience to block the good balls and dispatch the bad ones with great leadership on the field. Looking sharp in those glasses Miles and Coaches!!!

Great work boys and enjoy your Madtoppings Forestville melas tonight as I know i will!

Cricket is all about fun for our kids but we also teach them to display great sposrtsmanship and this was on show yesterday during the U 13’s Div1 match between Seaforth and Forest.

The game was evenly poised and wickets precious when Arthur O'Brien (Seaforth Suns) showed outstanding sportsmanship by walking when given not-out on a caught behind appeal.

It was a courageous decision by a young talented player, and a gesture lauded by both teams.

A great morning to kick off the Blast cricket season at Melwood Oval today.

Plenty of fun was had by all the kids, the crazy catch castle, skills session, blast cricket game and of course the all important sausage sizzle and drinks at the end - oh and did we mention the great FDCC Uther + Sun Property Back Packs with heaps of merchandise inside?

Thanks to everyone for turning up and especially to The Dublin Butcher for the great sausages - great tasting as always and there were none left at the end of the day! Drop in and see them or you can even order on line!

A special shout out to all the skills coaches and tong masters that turned up to help that kids (Nate, Beau, Toby, Ollie, Will and Sam) get introduced to cricket and get ready for a great season ahead - there was some mention of how good the kids were and they expect to see them playing for Australia in years to come!

Lastly, thanks to all the parents that took the time out during the school holidays to come along and be apart of the day.
