Funkey Swim

FunKey Swim offers learn-to-swim lessons in a 'boutique' environment. They love celebrating your child’s achievements, no matter how big or small.

Our cosy venue helps children feel safe and understood while they gain the confidence and skills needed to be happy and safer in the water. Our Funkey Swim team are selected for their positive, fun and nurturing natures, and trained in our unique Funkey Swim teaching philosophies and methods.

💜 Mother’s Day at FunKey Swim 💜

Our “My Mum is My Hero Because…” Mother’s Day competition brought so many beautiful moments to our centre! From the funny one-liners to the heartfelt messages (and everything in between), reading through each and every entry gave us plenty of smiles, big laughs, and maybe even a few happy tears 🥹💜

We had a big laugh at the swimmer who told us their mum is a hero because “she gets me Big Macs” 🍔😂 and we definitely got a little emotional reading the many heartfelt messages about how much mums care for us, look after us, comfort us, and make us feel so loved every day.

Truthfully… there was no way we could choose just one winner based on the entries alone! Every message was special in its own way, so instead, we popped all entries into a hat and randomly drew our winner.

🌟 Swimmer of the Month 🌟

Our FunKey Swimmer of the Month is the one and only Frankie!

Frankie arrives at every lesson with a big smile and a fantastic can-do attitude, which makes him an absolute joy to teach. Recently, he has been working hard on mastering his freestyle and backstroke technique, and it’s been amazing to see the progress he’s making—especially in the distance he can now swim in both strokes.

We’re so proud of your effort and consistency, Frankie—keep up the great work!

Little floats. Big skill building.

At around 2 years old, children are developing vertically — walking, climbing and exploring the world upright. Because of this, lying on their back in the water doesn’t always feel natural.

Using a pool noodle adds variety and gentle support while helping toddlers explore the feeling of floating on their back in a fun and playful way.

At FunKey Swim, we create experiences that build skills step by step, helping little swimmers grow in confidence and comfort in the water.

🐰🌸 Happy Easter from the FunKey Swim Team! 🌸🐰

Just a quick reminder that our swim school will be closed for the Easter break from Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th April.

🏊‍♂️ Lessons will resume on Tuesday 7th April.

We hope all of our swim families enjoy a wonderful Easter filled with chocolate, fun, and time with loved ones. 🍫🐣

We can’t wait to see everyone back in the pool next week.

Splashers 3 | 15 months – 2 years

At this stage, little swimmers are becoming more curious, active and independent. Our Splashers 3 classes are designed to support this exciting stage of development by encouraging movement, exploration and confidence in the water.

Through playful activities, swimmers develop balance, body awareness and early swimming skills, all while building comfort and safety around water.

At FunKey Swim, families enjoy learning in our boutique pool environment, with only one class running at a time. This creates a calm space where children can focus, parents can connect, and our community continues to grow together.

There’s something special about the first time they jump in by themselves.

Our newly graduated Splashers 4 swimmers (around 2 years old) are beginning one of their most exciting new skills — jumping in and swimming to their parent.

After the jump, swimmers use their propulsive paddles and kicks to move through the water before reaching and grabbing their parent’s shirt at the ledge to finish safely.

This milestone is an exciting step for our youngest swimmers as they begin to move more independently in the water while still finishing with a safe recovery.

A brave jump.

and are collecting donations for animals in need!

We’re proud to be supporting the amazing work of the Animal Welfare League Queensland by collecting items to help care for rescued animals.

If you have any spare towels, blankets, or pet supplies, we’d love for you to bring them along to your next lesson and pop them in our donation bin at FunKey Swim. Every item helps provide comfort to animals waiting for their forever homes. 🐶🐱

🧺 Donations will be accepted until Saturday 28th March.
