Parkside Spurs Spurs of the Mighty West! Playing aussie rules footy in the WRFL Senior Womens & AFL Masters comps 💙

The Western Spurs are a Women's Aussie Rules Football Team from the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. We currently field a senior women's team (ages 16+) in the NFNL and have an AFL Masters Team for women over the age of 35. If you have ever considered playing women's football, come and pull on the Spurs blue and join a family-orientated club with a fantastic medical and coaching staff on board!

🔥 100 senior games for Rita Ceravolo 🔥

This weekend we celebrate one of the most decorated and respected players to ever pull on the Spurs jumper. From being named our 2022 Best & Fairest, to earning selection in the 2023 Spurs Team of the Decade and WRFL Team of the Year, Rita has continually set the standard on and off the field.

Her outstanding form only continued, with a 2024 WFNL Senior Women’s Team of the Year selection and Debbie Lee Best & Fairest win, before taking her game to another level in 2025. Rita was recognised in the inaugural WFNL Interleague team, named once again in the WFNL Senior Women’s Team of the Year, claimed the league’s joint Senior Women’s Best & Fairest, and added a second Debbie Lee Best & Fairest to her name, all while leading from the front as part of our leadership group in both 2025 and 2026.

And in true Rita fashion, she’s somehow managed to have more career bounces than games played, a reflection of the run, carry and excitement she brings every single week.

But beyond the awards and accolades, it’s her passion, competitiveness and leadership that have helped shape our club into what it is today.

Congratulations Rita on 100 senior games, an incredible milestone and one the entire Spurs family is proud to celebrate 👏🏼

Last weekend our Masters side proudly celebrated Indigenous Round, hosted by the Wyndham Masters Football Club - recognising and celebrating the history, culture, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our game and community.

Footy has the power to bring people together, and Indigenous Round is an important reminder to listen, learn, and walk together with respect.

A huge thank you to Spurs past player Elise Muller who designed the jumper 👏🏼❤️

🎉 150 GAMES FOR MORGS 🎉

This week we celebrate a massive milestone for our very own Tara Morgan, clocking up 150 games!

Morgz is loyalty personified. Since the day she walked through the door from WA, she's been all in for this club.

Spurs team of the century vice captain ✅

She's done it all, and still gets out on the field every week (most weeks), diving for every ball like she hasn't quite realised she's getting ol... Played 150 Games 😉

We love having her around. Everyone walks a little bit taller when Morgs is at the club.

And how could we leave off one of her greatest contributions of all: introducing Ry & Harrison to the Spurs
