A big well done and thank you to all who entered and attended Round 8 of the TKC Club Championships yesterday at Cockburn.

It was mostly beautiful weather - a few showers, but the buckets of rain on the forecasts never did eventuate thankfully. It did leave a few drivers caught out with the "to run wets, or not to run wets" dilemma 🫣

Congratulations to all of our podium getters - photos below. Note we had a little catching up to do from last round so there are two cadet 12 podiums (one for round 7 and one for this round).

And well done to every single driver too - some racing for the first time, some getting a PB, some achieving their own personal goals or even having an average or rubbish day but still having fun.

🏆 B&D Garage Doors Driver of the Day Awards
These are awarded to our cadet and junior drivers in recognition of qualities like great sportsmanship, determination, spirit, personal improvement and effort on track.

Cadet Driver of the Day: Congratulations to Jacob Pietrocola
TKC are thrilled to see Jacob back on track after his incident and injury earlier this year. Jacob we are so impressed by your courage, and how well you've come right back in where you left off! Great job buddy!

Junior Driver of the Day: Piero Tomasoni
Despite being one of our newest juniors, Piero took on the challenge of entering himself into two junior classes this round - an impressive effort! On top of that, he showed an admirable attitude and sportsmanship when contact in one of his qualifying sessions sent him off track at the start of the session. Well done Piero!

These lucky drivers went home with the $50: Cadets - Carl, Juniors - Archie, and Seniors - Aaron.

The $100 did not go off and will jackpot next month.

Lastly, please join us in thanking allllll of our wonderful officials and volunteers for the hard work they do to make these meetings possible. A special mention for our Out-grid team led by Wayne who did an amazing job managing the drivers all day despite having no PA. Thank you to all the legends, we know we could not race without you and we love you for it!

Wishing all of our kart dads, pops, grandads, uncles and father figures a very Happy Father's Day!

Whether you are spending this day trackside, bent over a kart in the shed, or somewhere else entirely, we hope you're having a wonderful day.

Thanks for all you do for your drivers, but also for your karting community. We appreciate you!
