No Lights No Lycra Kensington, Melbourne Lights out, it's time to dance! Formerly No Lights No Lycra Flemington, we have now moved to Kensington! Bring: water bottle and comfortable clothes to dance in.

No Lights No Lycra is a casual free-form dance class in the dark for the pure joy of dancing. No Lights No Lycra:
-is a place for people to come and dance freely in a friendly, non-threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere.
-is an event that occurs in a dimly lit room: with the lights low people can truly dance without worrying about what they look like.
-is a time to dance independently in th

e company of others – in order for people to truly lose themselves in the music it is important to keep talking to a minimum.
-is not about technique and being a ‘good’ dancer, it’s about the experience of dancing with no one watching and the joy that this brings.
-is a place to exercise at your own pace while having fun.
-promotes a healthy mind and a healthy body.
-is about making dance accessible for everyone. It is an inclusive event – open to all ages, genders, backgrounds and demographics. It is a place to shake out the stresses of the week, let go of your inhibitions and completely be yourself.

Dear dancers,
Well, it's council chaos again. There is a Ramadan iftar with quiet prayer booked in the main hall, right next door to the supper room where we are meant to be doofing. Due to council's inability to adequately organise their community events, tonight's dance (the penultimate!) will be cancelled. Please keep fingers and toes crossed that our last session will be chaos-free!

Hi friends, after much deliberation Angelique and I have decided to give up the mantle for NLNL Flemington/ Kensington. Last year in Flemington we were struggling with dwindling numbers due to the sloped floor, as well as some other venue user group challenges. We moved to Kensington hoping that a council building would provide some stability, but we have had challenges every week since moving in. Every moment spent dancing with you has been bliss, but all the prep has been hard work. We will be stepping down with our last dance on the 28th of March. Let us know if you would like to step in to continue running the event. Xo Crissy.
