What if the most productive thing you did this week was… lie down and receive? ✨

I’ve just finished my last Access Bars session for the day, and my client practically floated out of the room. That deep exhale, softened shoulders, relaxed smile… you could almost see the weight they’d been carrying melt away.

And honestly? I get it.

I had my Bars run last Saturday evening and slept like an absolute dream afterwards. The kind of sleep where you wake up feeling like your whole system has had a reset.

There’s something incredibly nurturing about having someone gently hold your head for an hour. No effort. No fixing. No pushing through. Just allowing your nervous system permission to unwind.

People often ask me what Access Bars feels like, and the best way I can describe it is this: it’s like someone has finally found the 'off switch’ for all the mental chatter, stress, overwhelm, and overthinking.

A little bit of magic? Maybe. ✨

A nervous system reset? Absolutely.

And if your body is reading this and quietly whispering, 'I need that…‘💫

I have just one Access Bars appointment available this week: tomorrow, Thursday at 11.15am. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, mentally busy, emotionally heavy, or simply in need of some nurturing, this might be exactly what your nervous system has been asking for.

Message me to claim the spot. 💛

Have you ever experienced Access Bars? Or are you curious to know what all the fuss is about? ✨

🧠✨ 3 Foods We Love for Our ADHD Super Brains ✨🧠

In our house, we don't see ADHD as a curse. We see it as a gift. A brain that's wired differently, often bursting with creativity, big ideas, curiosity, incredible out-of-the-box thinking... and yes, sometimes needing a little extra support to help those amazing brains thrive.

Three foods that are regulars in our kitchen:

Eggs
Eggs are packed with protein and choline, which help support brain function, focus, memory, and steady energy levels. Starting the day with protein can also help avoid those energy crashes that can make concentration even harder.

Blueberries
These little powerhouses are loaded with antioxidants that help protect brain cells and support cognitive function. Plus, they're an easy snack that most kids will happily eat!

Nuts & Seeds
Think almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds. They're rich in healthy fats, magnesium, zinc, and omega-3s—all important nutrients for supporting brain health, mood regulation, and attention.

And can we just take a moment to appreciate the walnut? 🤣 Have you ever noticed that a walnut looks remarkably like a tiny brain? Two hemispheres, all those little folds and wrinkles... almost as if nature was trying to leave us a clue!

Coincidence? Maybe. A gentle reminder from Mother Nature? I'll let you decide. 😉

No food is a magic solution, but giving our super brains the nutrients they need can make a world of difference.

What are your favourite brain foods in your home? 👇💛

Today was a fine parenting moment… not. 😅

This morning I found myself accepting an invitation into the drama cycle with my teens. And wow, I didn’t just visit it. I took on all the roles and helped keep the whole thing spinning. The funny thing is, I know the Drama Triangle well. I teach it, talk about it, and have written about it. Yet there I was, right in the middle of it.

If you haven’t heard of it before, go and find one of my old blog posts on the topic. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

The reality is, I’m not just a practitioner. I’m also a mum. And sometimes I’m at capacity too. That’s usually my cue that self-care isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. Thankfully, today is my day off. I’ve just finished a Pilates class where I could release some of the steam from this morning. Now I’m sitting in the sunshine with a cup of tea, one of my fur babies curled up on my lap, and taking a moment to reset. This afternoon I’ll catch up with a dear friend, and I know I’ll come home feeling recharged and ready to be the mum I want to be.

The takeaway? Forgive yourself. Repair where needed. Apologise when it’s called for. Then move forward with good intentions. None of us get it right all the time. We just keep showing up, learning, and loving our kids the best we can. ❤️

And while today’s reset came in the form of Pilates, sunshine and connection, I’m also reminded why I love Access Bars so much. For me, it’s one of the most nurturing ways to give the nervous system a chance to switch off, unwind and reset when life feels like a lot.

What helps you reset after a challenging parenting moment?

Some of my clients are going through incredibly challenging times.

They’ve experienced trauma, grief, anxiety, burnout, or years of feeling stuck. Some arrive feeling exhausted from carrying the weight of it all for so long. Others tell me they’ve been in talk therapy for years and simply feel ‚talked out.‘

And while talking can be incredibly valuable, sometimes the body is still holding onto what the mind has already processed.

Trauma isn’t just a story we tell. It’s often something that is stored within the nervous system and held in the body.

This is why I believe it’s so important to work with both the mind and the body.

One of the gentlest and most nurturing modalities I have come across is Access Bars.

For many people, it feels like being given permission to completely let go. To stop trying so hard. To stop analysing. To simply rest.

Imagine lying down for an hour, feeling safe, supported and held, while your nervous system has the opportunity to switch out of survival mode.

After a session today, my client described feeling safe and light. And most importantly… hopeful.

Hope can be hard to find when you’ve been struggling for a long time.

For someone who felt they had tried everything, experiencing a sense of lightness and hope after a single session is a beautiful outcome. ✨

Sometimes healing doesn’t have to be hard. Sometimes the nervous system simply needs a safe space to exhale. 🤍

Please note: Access Bars is a complementary wellness modality and is not intended to replace medical, psychological or mental health treatment. I believe the most effective approach often involves supporting both the mind and the body.

This little girl is me when I was about 10 years old.

When I look at her now, I see someone who often felt like she didn’t quite belong. Someone who worried about fitting in, who sometimes felt different, unseen and not enough. At that age, I didn’t have the words for it. I just knew that feeling was there.

What’s interesting is that even now, decades later, that younger version of me still shows up from time to time.

Not because I’m still that little girl, but because our experiences shape us. The beliefs we formed as children can quietly follow us into adulthood. A comment, a situation, a rejection, or even walking into a room full of people can suddenly trigger an old feeling that has nothing to do with who we are today.

We think we’re responding as the confident, capable adult we’ve become. But often it’s the inner child responding.

The part of us that learned to stay small.
The part that feared being judged.
The part that wanted to belong.
The part that never felt fully seen or heard.

This is some of the beautiful work we do in clinic.

Together, we gently uncover the younger parts of ourselves that are still carrying old stories, emotions, fears, and beliefs. Not to blame the past, but to understand it. Because when we bring awareness, compassion, and healing to those parts, we create more freedom in the present.

The goal isn’t to get rid of your inner child. The goal is to help that younger version of you feel safe enough that your adult self can lead. And when that happens, life starts to feel very different.

Have you ever noticed a reaction, fear, or pattern in your life that feels much older than the situation you’re facing today?

Happy Weekend 💛

A little reminder to make time for the people who make you laugh until your cheeks hurt.

Life gets busy. Between work, kids, responsibilities, and the endless to-do lists, catching up with girlfriends can feel like a luxury. But sometimes a coffee, a walk, or a good chat with a friend is exactly the medicine we need.

There’s something powerful about being with people who know your story, hold space for you, and can make you laugh at the chaos of life.

Laughter doesn’t solve everything, but it can lighten the load, calm the nervous system, and remind us that we’re not carrying it all alone.

Here’s to friendship, connection, and belly laughs this weekend. 🥂✨

Tag the friend who always makes you laugh. 💕

Today was one of those sessions that really reminded me why I love this modality.

A new client came in with ADHD, anxiety, depression and insomnia.

The anxiety was constant – racing heart, butterflies in the stomach, and a mind that never seemed to switch off. The depression had them feeling stuck and unable to take action. And the insomnia was leaving them completely exhausted.

We had a brief chat, without needing to revisit trauma or unpack years of history. I explained the process and they lay down on the table.

Within about 10 minutes, their busy mind had settled completely. They appeared to move into a deeply relaxed state, and for the remainder of the session they simply rested while I ran the Bars.

For context, Access Bars is often associated with very deep relaxation states, where people may feel as though their mind becomes quieter and their body more at ease.

When the session finished, they looked and felt different. The racing heart had stopped, the butterflies were gone, and they said they felt like they had just woken up from 8 hours of restorative sleep.

Most importantly, they felt hopeful.

Every client is different and every session is different, but moments like this are why I continue to bring this into my kinesiology practice. It is gentle, non-invasive, and does not require clients to relive or verbally process trauma in order to experience change in their system.

If you've ever been curious about adding Access Bars to your clinic, I am facilitating a one-day Access Bars Practitioner Class on Sunday 21 June in Russell Lea (Sydney Inner West).

On the day you will:
✨ Become a certified Access Bars Practitioner
✨ Give two full Bars sessions
✨ Receive two full Bars sessions
✨ Experience the modality for yourself before using it with clients
✨ Earn CPE points

Many practitioners also find they are able to recoup the cost of the course within just a few sessions once they begin using it in clinic.

If you'd like more information, send me a DM.

How does it get any better than this?
