⚾ WOMEN’S BASEBALL – PLAYERS WANTED! ⚾

Are you looking for a new challenge, want to try something different, or simply want to be part of a fantastic group of women?

Woodville District Baseball Club is looking for new players to join our Women’s Baseball Program at Don Klaebe Reserve, Drummond Avenue, Findon.

👩 Ages 14 to beyond
⚾ No experience required!

🗓️ 2026/27 SEASON

October – March
With a break over Christmas/New Year

Games:
🔹 Division 2 & Division 3 – Friday nights
🔹 Division 1 – Sunday afternoons

Training:
🔹 Wednesday – 5.30pm–7.30pm
🔹 Sunday – 12pm–2pm (Prior to the season starting)

We currently have positions available in our Division 2 and Division 3 teams for the upcoming season.

Whether you’ve played before or have never picked up a baseball, we’d love to hear from you! Come along, meet our fantastic squad of women, learn something new and most importantly have some fun! 💚💛⚾

Some equipment is provided.

🇦🇺 CONGRATULATIONS OLIVER HAYES! 🇦🇺

Congratulations and all the very best to Oliver Hayes, who has been selected for the Team Australia U18 Selection Camp in Melbourne later this month!

Team Australia has finalised invitations to the U18 Selection Camp, with 36 players from across the country invited to attend.

The players will come together in Melbourne from 20–25 September, with the goal of earning a place in the final 20-man Australian U18 roster for the U18 Oceania Championships, which will also serve as the U18 World Cup Qualifiers later this year.

Good luck, Oliver — go show them what you can do! 💚💛⚾️

⚾ Say Hi to Alyssa Lasscock! 💚💛

Alyssa is a Senior Women’s player who was part of our inaugural premiership team and was also a member of last season’s premiership-winning team.

Alyssa started playing baseball in 2019 at just 15 years old, having never touched a baseball before.

She had just finished her rehabilitation from her first ACL injury and had always thought baseball looked like a lot of fun, so she decided to throw herself into a completely new sport.

Alyssa said it was scary at first, starting something so new as a teenager and wondering whether she would be any good or whether she would get along with everyone at Woodville. But the Woodville family quickly made her feel at home.

“Everyone was so unbelievably welcoming, and I knew I had found a little family from the very beginning.”

🏆 Alyssa’s favourite Woodville moment?

Without a doubt, winning the 2022/2023 premiership.

“The amount of hard work we put in as a team to get to that point was inspirational to me, and I felt honoured to be part of such an experience.”

💪 Alyssa’s hopes for the 2026/2027 season?

Her goal is to get back to where she was before her second ACL injury.

Coming back from such a significant injury takes courage, but Alyssa says having the support of her teammates makes the journey so much easier — and she “couldn’t ask for anything better.”

We’re so proud to have Alyssa as part of our Senators family and can’t wait to see her back on the diamond this season! 💚💛⚾
