📣 Congratulations to FTGCC’s Lee Thompson for winning the 2026 “Adult Club Person of the Year award” at the Knox Sport & Leisure awards tonight.
These annual awards recognize & reward the hard-working volunteers within Knox’s local sporting and leisure clubs.

Lee has gone above & beyond for our club over the years, but even more so over this past year - he totally deserves this award & we all appreciate everything that he has done for the FTGCC.

Well done Lee 👏👏

Introducing our FTGCC Committee for Season 26/27.

This year’s committee consists of 18 dedicated members, including three husband & wife teams 👏 and one of their sons - We are a great family club!
While all committee members have specific roles and responsibilities, it truly takes everyone working together to make our club successful.
We’re also lucky to have many wonderful volunteers who aren’t on the committee but have generously put their hands up (again) to help throughout the season.
A huge thank you to everyone who has committed to volunteering their time and support for the upcoming 2026/27 cricket season. Your commitment to FTGCC is greatly appreciated….. and as the saying goes, many hands make light work. 🙌
Looking forward to season 26/27!

From playing Juniors to Seniors, a 1st XI Premiership player & Captain/Coach….. to being elected as the FTGCC President for season 26/27.

Let’s all get behind Ryan, & our fantastic committee, as we continue the success of our club, both on & off the field.

Congratulations Ryan…..following in the footsteps of your Dad, the great (Ftgcc past President) Kevin Handley.
He would be so proud 💙

The FTGCC would like to thank Lee Thompson as he steps down as President of the Ferntree Gully Cricket Club after an outstanding four years in the role.

During Lee’s time as President, the club has celebrated multiple Premiership success. Off the field, Lee has been the person behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly — running the bar, organizing functions, dealing with issues when they arise, setting up and packing up the rooms after every weekend, helping coordinate the renovations of our main clubrooms, stepping into the canteen when needed and sometimes cooking on the BBQ.
No job has ever been too big or too small for Lee.

What stands out most is the type of person Lee is - Kind, organised, dependable, helpful, and always willing to do anything for anyone. He has been a great Leader and a fantastic speaker who has represented our club with pride and passion.

Season 25/26 was a very hard year, emotionally with the loss of our Ben Austin - BA #512 & personally for Lee, as he also had his own personal health challenges, yet Lee continued to give so much time and energy to our club and community. That dedication has not gone unnoticed and is deeply appreciated by everyone at FTGCC.

Thank you, Lee, for everything you have done as President and as a committee member of the FTGCC. Your hard work, leadership, and commitment have helped shape the club into what it is today.

We are also very pleased that Lee will remain involved on the committee for the 26/27 season, and we look forward to continuing to work alongside him.

Thank you, Lee "Thommo" Thompson 👏
