🐊JUNIOR CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR🐊

A huge congratulations to Lucas Santilli, who was awarded the Junior Club Person of the Year at the 2026 Knox Sport and Leisure Awards last night!

This prestigious award recognises young volunteers who have made a significant contribution to their sporting club and community, and Lucas is an incredibly deserving recipient.

Lucas is the definition of a club person. Whether it’s helping prepare and serve Thursday night dinners, running the canteen during our Women’s matches on Sundays, assisting with club events, supporting our junior programs, or simply being the first to put his hand up whenever help is needed, Lucas is always there with a smile and a willingness to contribute.

His dedication, reliability, and passion for our club embodies everything that makes community sport so special. Lucas consistently goes above and beyond behind the scenes, helping create a welcoming and successful environment for all members of our club.
We are incredibly proud of everything Lucas does for the Swamp, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.

Mountain Gate Cricket Club is excited to announce the signing of Roshane Cooray for the upcoming season!

Rosh joins us from Parkfield Cricket Club, where he enjoyed a long and successful journey that began in the Under 13’s. He also brings valuable Premier Cricket experience from Dandenong Cricket Club and will reunite with our Senior Coach Shaun, after previously playing together

A genuine strike bowler, Rosh claimed 38 wickets during the 2024/25 season and has a proven ability to make an impact whenever he has ball in hand. More than handy with the bat, he can also provide crucial runs when his side needs them most

Along with his on-field talent, Rosh brings leadership, competitiveness, and a team-first attitude that will be a fantastic addition to our club culture

We’re thrilled to have Rosh join the Gators family and can’t wait to see him at the Swamp this season! Welcome Rosh🐊

IAN HARLEY MEDALLIST 🏅

It was a memorable evening last week as JD capped off an incredible season by taking out the Ian Harley Medal after a dominant year with bat and ball.

With 1023 runs @ 93 and 18 wickets @ 13.11, JD produced one of the finest individual seasons seen in Gators colours. A season highlighted by 4 centuries, a high score of 176, and a 5 wicket haul, he continually stood up when the club needed him most.

Week after week, JD set the standard with his consistency, competitiveness and ability to change a game in a single session. His impact across the season was enormous and this medal is a fitting reward for the outstanding cricket he produced throughout the year.

While next season sees JD depart the Gators to take on the challenge of turf cricket, we’re thrilled to say there will still be plenty of Jim around the club after re-signing as our Head Women’s Coach. His influence on and off the field continues to be invaluable to the Mountain Gate family!

A whopping 53 of our senior players managed to notch up a duck this season, with Kev leading the charge and taking home top honours with 4 ducks for the year

🐊SEASON 2025/26🐊

That’s a wrap for cricket at the Swamp for the 2025/26 season, and what an incredible season it was!

We are incredibly proud of the growth across our Senior, Women’s, Veterans and Junior programs, and the strong club culture continuing to thrive at the Swamp. This season saw six of our teams reach finals, with three going on to win premierships, a fantastic reflection of the hard work, development, and commitment across the entire club.

We couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved and all that’s been achieved this year. Bring on season 2026/27!
