SMAI started out in 1985 originally known as “Sports Master Australia” and was first established by Homa and Lilly Alenaddaf. Homa; a martial artist in his own right with over 40 years of experience, has a “never back down” attitude and always strives to be the best in whatever he put his mind to. Homa and Lilly’s dream was to create an Australian brand that is internationally recognised for its r

eliability, amazing service, high quality products at an affordable price. Therefore the name “Sports Master” was chosen as it would apply to the entire sports and fitness market and not just martial arts. Sports Master operated primarily as a martial arts uniform and punch bag manufacturing company, producing most of the products sold out of Homa and Lilly’s home garage. With little more than a sewing machine and a never give up attitude, Sports Master soon began to grow. The company gained more and more contacts which started to create a snowball effect. With this momentum came a demand for Sports Master to expand their product range. As is stands today SMAI (Sports Master Athletics International) serves an international market with over 3000 products ranging from:

• Boxing & Kickboxing
• MMA
• Strength & Conditioning
• Mats & Flooring
• Padded Products (Protection, Safety and Training)
• Custom Equipment

Our goal as a company has never strayed away from Homa and Lilly’s dream and now their strong vision has been passed on to their son; Lee Alenaddaf. Lee has introduced a new generation of innovative sports and fitness equipment to the SMAI range. This now makes SMAI a one stop shop for setting up fitness, Martial Arts, MMA and Boxing centres. Lee now runs the company with the same passion and dedication that helped Homa and Lilly build SMAI from its humble beginnings to what it is today!
