What a weekend! 🚤🌊

Our IRB Drivers Course over the long weekend delivered plenty of action, skill-building and great teamwork. From early starts to time on the water, participants put in a huge effort to develop their rescue craft handling and lifesaving capabilities.

A big thank you to our trainers and volunteers who made the course possible, and congratulations to everyone who took part. Your commitment helps keep our beaches safer.

We’re looking forward to celebrating an incredible season together at our Presentation Event this Easter Sunday 🏆

Join us from 4:45pm as we come together as a club to recognise the achievements of our members and wrap up the year that was. From lifesaving and training to sports awards, there’ll be plenty to celebrate on the day.

Well Done to our Mens Reserve Boat Crew, completing their Aussies assault on Thursday.

Having competed in 3 rounds in big seas, they came in with results of 4th, 5th & 2nd in each of their 3 rounds of heats.

Despite their best efforts in these trying conditions, they unfortunately missed the cut to the next round.

Congratulations to our oldest competitor, Mal Freake on his results at the 2026 Aussies (Australian Surf Life Saving Championships) being held in Queensland.

He received a Bronze Medal for the Beach Flags and came 5th in the Beach Sprint in the Masters 75 yrs + category.

Goes to show that you are never too old......

Well done Mal! 🤟

Also, congratulations to Louis D'Andrea who came up through our nippers program at Fairhaven SLSC and is also still a member, though now competing for Anglesea SLSC.  2 Gold medals in Under 15s for the Beach Sprint & Beach Flags.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Fairhaven’s very own Celina Matlock, who represented the Club at Surf Life Saving Australia’s National Leadership College (NLC) this February 🙌

Held in Sydney, the NLC is the premier leadership development program in the country, bringing together young lifesaving leaders from across Australia – with just six representatives from Victoria.

Celina described the experience as both powerful and impactful, not only for her lifesaving journey but also for her personal growth. A standout highlight was building strong connections and friendships with like-minded leaders from around the country.

She returns to Fairhaven with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and valuable lessons to share with our community. 👏

We’re also incredibly proud of Nancy Joseph and Michael Henderson, who once again played a key role in delivering this outstanding national program.
