The Exeter Sheepdog Club had a display at the Exeter Show with a few young dogs doing some training, which had many people watching throughout the day.
A litter of 3 week old Border Collie pups and their mum were a big drawcard also!

A big thanks to club member Mary Sotheran for supplying and carting the sheep, Max Rainsford for helping pack up and also helping on the day with Matt Eberle.
We had some CopRice on display which is the food which keeps our dogs in peak condition.

The date of this years trial was brought forward a week so it didn’t clash with the Tasmanian Yard Dog Association state championship and we ended up with 4 of their members coming to run their Kelpies and they all did very well!
We had to move the loading ramp to harder ground so the truck didn’t get bogged and Adrian Carpenter offered his many years of good stock handling skills and good dogs to walk them around to the ramp calmly and load them up quickly.
The new portable yard panels came in very handy and Richard Goss did a great job as always transporting the sheep.

Who would have thought we would see sunshine this weekend after the 150mm of rain we have had in the past 4 days.
It made our yards quite boggy but the sheep were well looked after and were taken away so they didn’t spend too long at the ground. Looking after the stock is very important because if we don’t have sheep there will be no trials!
