🏐 Congratulations to EDNA Umpires Jayda Young and Sarah Arrowsmith! 🏐

The Essendon District Netball Association is incredibly proud to congratulate Jayda Young and Sarah Arrowsmith on their recent appointments to umpire SSN Reserves matches during the current season.

Jayda took the court in an SSN Reserves fixture two weekends ago, while Sarah achieved a significant milestone on Saturday, umpiring her very first SSN Reserves game.

Many within our association will know Jayda through her ongoing work mentoring and supervising our developing umpires across EDNA competitions. Her passion for helping the next generation of umpires improve their skills continues to make a lasting impact on our umpiring program.

Sarah’s journey is a fantastic example of the opportunities available within our association. Having started her umpiring career at EDNA, Sarah progressed through the pathway to achieve her C Badge before advancing to her current A Badge accreditation. She now regularly officiates championship-level matches across the VNL and continues to challenge herself at the highest levels of the game.

Both Jayda and Sarah have also represented their states at the National Netball Championships over the past two years, demonstrating their commitment, professionalism, and excellence in umpiring.

We congratulate both women on this outstanding achievement and look forward to supporting them as they continue to develop, challenge themselves, and strive to be the very best umpires they can be.

Well done, Jayda and Sarah! πŸ‘πŸ–€β€οΈ

Over the past two Sundays, six of our umpires represented our association across the two Netball Victoria Association Championships – Central West competitions, and we could not be prouder of the job they did.

We had a fantastic mix of established, experienced, and developing umpires who all showcased professionalism, integrity, confidence, and a great application of the rules throughout both tournaments. Every one of them represented our association exceptionally well both on and off the court.

A special mention must also go to our four developing and aspiring umpires, who have put in a huge amount of work leading into these championships. In the lead-up to the tournaments, they were supported through training sessions and game development by our very own VNL umpire, Isla Prentice, who worked closely with them to ensure they were prepared and ready for the challenge.

To all six umpires β€” congratulations on a remarkable effort across both weekends. We are incredibly proud of you all and excited to continue watching your umpiring journeys grow. πŸ‘πŸ–€β€οΈ

Today, we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of all those who have served our country.

On ANZAC Day, the Essendon District Netball Association community reflects on the values of mateship, resilience, and unity β€” values that continue to inspire us both on and off the court.

We pay our respects to the servicemen and women, past and present, and thank them for their service and sacrifice.

Lest we forget.

Congratulations to Mia and Amelie! πŸŽ‰

A huge congratulations to Mia and Amelie on earning their National Umpiring B Badges at the Netball Victoria State Titles over the weekend.

This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of the dedication, commitment, and hard work you have both put into your umpiring.

Since joining the Umpire Program in October, both Mia and Amelie have continued to develop and take great strides in their umpiring, making this milestone even more special.

⭐ An extra special congratulations to Mia, who was also named Umpire of the Tournament by the Netball Victoria Umpiring Panel.
This is the highest umpiring honour across the entire tournament, recognising the standout umpire across all matches and divisions.
