We are proud to have attended the SLSCC Awards of Excellence on Saturday night as partners of SLSCC, united by a shared vision of improving water safety and preventing drowning across the Central Coast.

We had the honour of assisting in presenting the Surf Sports Quality Club Pointscore and Surf Sports Overall Club Pointscore awards. 🏆🌊

Congratulations to Avoca Beach Surf Life Saving Club on taking out both awards, and to all the volunteers, athletes and clubs recognised throughout the evening. 👏

As we celebrate Swim Safer Week at 5 Star Swim Schools, it's a timely reminder of the importance of working together to improve water safety and drowning prevention in our community. Every lesson, every volunteer and every conversation about water safety helps make a difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who came dressed in their pyjamas today and got into the spirit of Swim Safer Week!

❄️ Winter Safety Tip: Swimming in clothes feels very different. Clothes become heavy, restrictive, and can even feel tangled. Practising clothed swims helps children build the confidence and skills to get themselves back to safety if they ever unexpectedly enter the water fully dressed.

🚨 What if one simple conversation could help save a life?

SwimSafer Week starts tomorrow, but water safety begins at home.

Before your next lesson, take a few minutes to chat with your child about water safety. Ask them:
💧 What would you do in an emergency?
💧 When is it safe to enter the water?
💧 How should we behave around pools, beaches, rivers and dams?

Using examples from around your home or local area helps children connect these important lessons to real-life situations they know and understand.

The skills we teach in the pool are reinforced by the conversations you have at home. A simple chat today, repeated regularly, can build confidence, awareness and potentially save a life.

Let’s work together to create safer swimmers this SwimSafer Week. 💙
