It really is a beautiful walk

Is this the most beautiful trail you've never heard of? 👇

Escape the crowds and follow a section of the Australian Alps Walking Track to discover Mushroom Rocks, on the Baw Baw Plateau.

This 3km hike winds through an enchanting mountain ash forest dotted with silver wattle, lush ferns, and even snow in the winter season.

Walk amongst the trees and monumental granite tors, formed over many years, that give this special place its name.

📍 Baw Baw National Park is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape that includes traditional Country of the Gunaikurnai and Wurundjeri Peoples.

Free entry as Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort has moved in to Green season. No requirement for wheel chains either. Still a great area on Hut run for snow play and……whatever you choose “at your own risk”.
Village central restaurant is open until Sunday August 30.

2026 Season Wrap 🎿❄️

That’s a wrap on what has been one of the strangest and toughest seasons we’ve experienced at Erica Ski Hire.

Super El Niño, combined with the ongoing effects of climate change, delivered a very challenging winter, with limited natural snow and a much shorter season than anyone wanted.

A **huge thank you to our customers** for continuing to support us — and especially to our fantastic staff, who worked through some pretty difficult conditions to keep things running. ❤️

Effective today, Sunday 23 August, 7pm, Erica Ski Hire is closed for the 2026 season.

With the lifts closing and snow conditions deteriorating, it’s simply not viable to continue.

One last chance at the mountain ☃️

Mount Baw Baw has free entry next week, with limited snow play still available around the village, conditions permitting. Village Central will also be open for meals.

No lifts, but there’s still a little winter left to enjoy.

Thanks again for your support in 2026. **Bring on 2027 — and hopefully a LOT more snow!** 🤞❄️

Mt Baw Baw has tobogganing, skiing and boarding on Hut Run today. Snow play is fair. Bollywood themed entertainers, food and face painting this weekend.
Saint Gwinear has no snow.
