Lessons With Linda Vdbosch
My aim is to help you develop your knowledge and confidence in your horsemanship journey, to form a partnership you can hone toward your goals with your horse.
Now a little about me.. Been riding , training, breaking in and showing for 63 yrs!I’ve been a pony club instructor, shown hacks and dabbled in dressage and cowhorse, love western performance including ranch…Been an AQHA judge , and recently became an RHAA judge. Yes I’m sure getting on😁I’ve managed 2 youth world cup teams, am a past president of AQHA. Coached horses and riders to state and national level, and have achieved state and national titles myself, on different horses.
I believe I know first hand the anxiety and passion that drives us and holds us back.
I have learnt and indeed still learning , from some of Australia’s best horsemen and women, as well as US horsemen .
By far my best tutors were the horses themselves, and I shall always be thankful for their input , tho at times , at the time, this was not so obvious to me😁
So there you go.. I hope I can make a bit of a difference for the better for both horse and rider, to make goals and enjoy every little step of the way.
I offer one on one lessons
Group lessons up to 3 riders
One and two day clinics
Options on choosing tack
And help on finding the unicorn

For those that may be interested.

MP Nick Dametto introduced a Castle Law Bill into the Queensland Parliament on the 1st May to enable Queenslanders the right to defend themselves or others during a home or property invasion without fear of any legal consequences.

Attached is a link for an E-Petition to support this Bill - and to request the House to do all in its power to legislate Castle Law in Queensland.

Feel free to share - Queenslanders demand to feel safe in their own homes.

Queensland Parliament welcomes all visitors. Find out how to visit the public gallery, take a tour or learn about parliament at one of our educational programs here.

Day Camp Horsemanship Clinics

Stuck in finding something fun and engaging for your kids to do over the school holidays? Would you consider them spending a day out on the farm working with horses, sheep and cattle to be interesting enough? We are currently holding Day Camps for novice and beginner riders. For the day they will learn skills in horsemanship and much more about life on the farm and all things horsey.

Activities include riding lessons, washing their ponies, trimming and clipping them, plating, rosettes and hoof painting – giving our rides a little TLC. Good tack care is essential for safety so they will be giving their saddles and bridles a good healthy clean whilst checking for weakness. Learning about First Aid for horses is also important. Of course a day out on the farm has to include trail rides, circle work, sporting and perhaps some jumping and a good feed for our four-legged friends at the end of the day to top it all off.

One day only has been set down during the Easter School Holidays. This clinic will be held on Thursday 11th April so you will need to secure your position asap. There are limited placings available as other programs will also be in place throughout the week, so please get in early.

All you need to bring is your helmet (don’t worry if you don’t have one, we will have spare), closed in boots/shoes, long sleeve shirt, jacket/jumper if cool, sunscreen, hat and a change of clothes. Don’t forget those lovely manners. You will need to provide your child with Morning Tea, Lunch & Afternoon Tea and water bottle.

If this is something that you feel your child would enjoy please give us a call on 0408 201 012 or email us your interest at [email protected] to ask questions and complete a Registration Form. Costs are $125 per child (including meals) and a 50% deposit will be required upon registration. As there are limited spaces available, it’s a case of first in, best dressed. Drop off at 10.30am, pick up 3.30pm sharp.

Cheers All & Happy Holidays!

Combined
Introduction to Horsemanship
&
Learn the Basics to Riding
Clinic

These school holidays we have combined two of our most popular beginner clinics: Introduction to Horsemanship & Learn the Basics.

Is your child interested in horses and would like the opportunity to spend the day with them learning about these lovely creatures?

In this clinic your child will learn about:

• Bond building with your horse to build confidence
• Communicating with your horse
• Understanding your horse and reading the horses behavior
• What groundwork is and its importance
• The importance of safety on the ground that leads to safety in the saddle
• Develop feel, movement and balance on a horse
• Beginner rider skills such as mounting and dismounting, correct position in the saddle, flexion, backing up, emergency stops and moving your horse in different directions
• Basic First Aid care for horses and identifying common illnesses
• Importance of tack care

They will learn the basics: how to ride a horse, moving forward, stop, turn, our riding aids (how we communicate with the horse), safety & mistakes.
Riding is a sport, meaning it’s quite physical and can be enjoyed on a number of skill levels. That’s one of the many wonderful things about it! This clinic helps safely get beginners in the saddle (and keep them there) by covering these basics.

As early riders, it can never be undervalued the importance of developing strong skills at the lower level. By solidifying what students have learned in lessons, this clinic will give them the opportunity to make them safer, confident and more independent riders.
