A great celebration of our junior program and the season that was 👏

Congratulations to all of our award winners — with around 30 juniors recognised across the event, it’s a fantastic reflection of the talent, effort and growth in our club.

A special mention to Jensen Sawyer, who was awarded the Jeff Palmer Memorial Award — an outstanding achievement and thoroughly deserved 👏

We’re a little behind with the excitement of finals last week, but we would never miss recognising our Junior Teams of the Week!

Some fantastic performances across the club with big runs, impressive bowling figures and plenty of red ink. It’s great to see so many of our young Demons stepping up and having an impact with both bat and ball.

🔴⚫️ A DEMON OF THE HIGHEST ORDER ⚫️🔴

With a superb 101 against Bendigo United in the final home and away game of the season, Gavin Bowles has etched his name even further into the record books.

In bringing up the century, fittingly with his brother Dean at the other end, Gav also passed an extraordinary 9,000 First XI runs, cementing himself not only as one of the greatest Demons to ever pull on the red and black, but one of the finest players to grace BDCA cricket.

In what has been a tough season for the Firsts, Gav has been a shining light — finishing the home and away season with over 500 runs at 51.9.

A remarkable player, teammate and clubman.

🔴⚫️ B GRADE – SEMI FINAL BOUND ⚫️🔴

Our Second XI finished 3rd at the end of the home and away season — and the keen-eyed statisticians among you might notice a familiar pattern 😉

As a result, they are semi-final bound for the fourth straight season and the fifth time in the last six years. A remarkable feat of consistency built on strong culture, belief, and a win-from-anywhere attitude.

Tom Schultz will skipper his 8th final, an achievement that cannot be understated and a reflection of the leadership he brings to the group year after year.

Finals cricket is here. Two days, one opportunity.
