After 16 weeks of competition, commitment, determination and plenty of blue and white pride, we have arrived at the pinnacle event of our season - GRAND FINAL DAY!💙🤍

This is the day our teams have been working towards all season. The early mornings, tough training sessions, wins, losses, challenges, celebrations and everything in between have led us here.

For our grand final teams it’s time to step onto the court, believe in yourselves, trust your teammates and leave absolutely everything out there. 🏐💪

Whether you’re playing for the premiership, supporting from the sideline, coaching, managing, umpiring, scoring or cheering from the stands, Grand Final day is a celebration of everything that makes St Andrews netball so special.

Let’s bring the noise, the energy and most importantly the St Andrews spirit. Play hard, play fair, play for each other.

Fixtures for the day are below. ⬇️ We have teams playing in each time-slot, so come on down and show your support. For the last time this season just a reminder that the blue highlighted teams need to collect the scoreboard before your game. Scorers from each team need to stand together to ensure there are no discrepancies with the scores.

Good luck to all our Grand Final teams, win or lose, we are incredibly proud of you and how you have represented St Andrew’s Netball Club.

💙CENTRE COURT PLAYER APPRECIATION💙

🏐 C • WA • WD — THE ENGINE ROOM OF THE TEAM! 🏐

They may not always get the glory of the goals, but without our centre court players, the game simply wouldn’t flow!
Our C, WA and WD are the link between attack and defence — constantly moving, creating opportunities, making crucial passes, chasing loose balls and working tirelessly at both ends of the court.
🏃‍♀️ And the running they do? It’s practically a mini marathon!
Quarter after quarter, they keep moving, sprinting, changing direction and putting in the kilometres while rarely getting a chance to catch their breath.

They are the players who keep the engine running.
They connect the team.
They create the opportunities.
They defend, attack and transition.
And they keep going… and going… and going! 💪

To every Centre, Wing Attack and Wing Defence — we see the kilometres you cover, the hard work you put in and the countless little things you do that make such a BIG difference.

💙 You are the engine room of the team — and every team needs a strong engine!

It looked like the defibrillators may need to be used for our sideline supporters after the 16-17/1’s heart stopping game today.

The girls looked like they were in control going into the first break with a ten goal lead. A lapse in concentration and some unforced errors allowed North Ryde to level the scores in the third quarter, setting up a nerve wracking final quarter for players and spectators alike.

Our girls composed themselves and found that extra push they needed to get over the line and progress to the Grand Final next weekend. A very tight win 48-46.

Congratulations girls. Wishing you all the best for the Grand Final. We’ll be there to cheer you on.💙🤍

⭐️ GRAND FINAL BOUND ⭐️

A huge congratulations to our C4 team (team 7). A big win today to book their ticket to the Grand Final next weekend.

This team plays netball in the same way they approach life - very relaxed. So much so that there were more supporters on the sideline than there were players 5 minutes prior to the game starting. 😝 A couple of players were worried that they wouldn’t have enough people to start the game. But the remaining girls ambled in just in time to bib up, get a team photo and walk onto court with seconds to spare - so chilled.

This is another team that has struggled to have all players available during the year, and were forced to play a couple of games with only 6 players. They earnt their spot in the grand final the hard way. Going into the final round of the regular season, this team was sitting in sixth position. It was a do or die game to stay alive and other results had to go their way. Luckily a win put them level with 2 other teams, but we progressed with a superior percentage.

A strong game win last week lead us to today, where our ladies were in control the entire game.

Best of luck for next weekend ladies. We’ll be on the sidelines cheering you on. 💙🤍

The preliminary finals are all completed and we now know who has made it to the big dance.

Congratulations to all our teams that recorded wins today. You have all earnt your place in the Grand Final.

To our teams that lost today, commiserations but hold your heads high. You fought to the end, you pushed your opponent, it just wasn’t to be today.

The winners below will join the C3’s and 13/2’s in the grand finals next weekend. That’s six teams we will have going for glory. That means a third of our teams made it to the last game of the year. Fabulous result for our netball club.

Just a friendly reminder to show good sportsmanship to everyone, including umpires.
We know playing in finals brings added pressure to do well, but as players, team officials and spectators, it is important to be mindful of YOUR actions and their consequences.

You'll forget that one call they missed by Monday. The impacts of umpire abuse, by contrast, can last a lifetime.

Let's stand tall and proud of St Andrews' commitment to "building community through sport."

We’ve reached the preliminary finals! No second chances now, there is everything to play for. Win this weekend and you’re through to the Grand Final. 🏆 Lose and its season over. 😥

We have teams playing in each time-slot, so come on down and support our St Andrews teams to give them that extra boost to get the win.

🏐A couple of reminders for the weekend:

* Game times have changed for a couple of teams, so make sure you check the fixtures below to see what time you are playing.

* If scores are tied at full time, The control desk needs to be notified immediately. Teams will swap ends and play will continue for another 5 minutes each way with a 2 minute break in between. At the conclusion of 5 minutes each way, if scores are still tied, the game continues until one team has a 2 goal advantage. They will be declared the winner and advance to the Grand Final the following week.

* Each team needs to provide a scorer, and the scorers are to stand together and share the scoring. This will help to avoid any discrepancies or disputes which cannot be considered if the scorers are not standing together. Once the scoresheet is handed over to control, the result is final.

* The blue highlighted team is the “home” team and needs to collect the scoreboard before your game.

Wishing all our teams the very best of luck. Leave it all out there on court. Play with passion and pride, but play in the St Andrew’s spirit of the game.
