Happy Father’s Day to all of our MSF dance dads, father figures, and anyone who steps into the role of “dad.” 🧡

We love looking out into our busy foyer and seeing so many involved dads doing the dance run, tackling the uniform shop, carrying costumes, cheering from the parent lounge and, yes… even mastering the occasional ballet bun. 😂

There was a time when the dance studio was seen as a very “female only” space, so we absolutely love seeing that old stigma being squashed with good chats, plenty of laughs and dads who are just as much a part of the dance journey.

Thank you to all of our MSF dads and special father figures for everything you do to support, encourage and champion our dancers — from the everyday running around to being there for the big moments too.

Like a regular dad… only cooler. 😎🧡

Bestie Bracelets in Ballet for Book Week! 🫶✨

When you dress up as Taylor Swift and it’s the perfect opportunity to remind your dance class just how special they are. 🥹

At Main St Funk, it’s about so much more than dancing. It’s friendship. It’s teamwork. It’s feeling like you belong — and learning how to make others feel at home too. 🏡🧡

A very special thank you to our beautiful ballerina who brought in Bestie Bracelets for her whole class — such a thoughtful little gesture and the sweetest reminder of what being part of a team is all about. 🥹✨

We love seeing our dancers showing up for themselves and, most importantly, for their teammates as we keep working towards our End of Year Concert 🧡

🧡🟠 **Weekly Team Spirit Shoutout – Week 7, Term 3 (August 24–29) — PART 1** 🟠🧡

Well THAT’S more like it! 😂👏

After the winter bugs left us with just 8 full classes last week, we bounced back with a whopping **24 classes achieving 100% attendance** this week! 🔥

And what a week to do it — **BOOK WEEK!** 📚✨

Our studios were filled with crazy characters, fabulous costumes and a whole lot of fun… all while our dancers continued working hard on their concert routines. We absolutely loved seeing everyone get into the spirit! 🧡

The **WTSS (Weekly Team Spirit Shoutout)** goes to any class with **100% attendance** because dance is a team sport! When everyone shows up, steps up and doesn’t give up, that’s when the magic happens ✨

And we have to give credit where credit is due… our teachers did a MUCH better job of remembering the photos this week too! 😂📸👏 Maybe that Teacher Shoutout really is working…

🧡🟠 Weekly Team Spirit Shoutout – Week 6, Term 3 (August 17–22) 🟠🧡

Well… the winter bugs got us this week! 🤧🦠

After weeks and weeks of HUGE Weekly Team Spirit Shoutout lists, this week we had just 8 classes manage to dodge the coughs, colds and sniffles and achieve 100% attendance 👏😂

Of course, if you’re sick, staying home and getting better is exactly where you should be 🧡 But it makes these eight teams pretty impressive for somehow managing to have every single dancer fighting fit and in class on the same day!

The WTSS (Weekly Team Spirit Shoutout) goes to any class with 100% attendance.

Because dance is a team sport! When everyone shows up, steps up and doesn’t give up, that’s when the magic happens ✨

Most of our dance family will know that last year, our little village was dealt a plot twist when our boss lady, Kristie, was diagnosed with breast cancer—just after our Mid-Year Concert and heading into the busiest half of our dance year.

What followed was a whirlwind of treatment, scans, procedures and appointments, all amongst costumes, sequins, stage lights, rehearsals, choreography and everyday dance life—not to mention mum life and Kristie’s other very demanding career!

Kristie took it all in her stride. In fact, if you didn’t realise she was unwell—or sometimes forgot—you’d be forgiven, because you never would have picked it. She kept showing up, kept smiling and, like everything Kristie does, she absolutely smashed it.

Kristie is now in the clear and says she’s finally starting to feel like herself again—even if, from the outside, she never appeared to be anything but.

Oh, and she’s never looked better—rocking the MSF merch with her new little sidekick, Sonny, by her side! 🐾🥰

Now, she’s taking part in Step Up to Breast Cancer, a month-long walking challenge raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation—an incredibly important cause that is, understandably, very close to our hearts. 💕
