Rovers Premier League Reserve Grade season came to an end on Saturday with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Epping Eastwood in Week 1 of the NWSF Premier League finals.
Chasing a Championship three-peat, Rovers started strongly and dominated the early stages but were unable to turn their chances into goals.
With the match heading towards extra time, Epping Eastwood found the breakthrough with just three minutes remaining to end Rovers’ finals campaign.
A huge congratulations to the Reserve Grade squad on another outstanding season and for once again competing at the top end of the competition. 💙
Focus now switches to our First Grade squad, who face West Pennant Hills in a Grand Final Qualifier this Saturday at Pennant Hills.

NWSF PREMIER LEAGUE REGULAR SEASON COMPLETE! ⚽️
The NWSF Premier League regular season wrapped up this weekend, with Rovers securing strong finishes across both grades.
🔵 First Grade: 2nd place — earning a Week 1 finals bye
🔵 Reserve Grade: 6th place — claiming the final spot in the top-six finals race
Congratulations to Kellyville Kolts (First Grade) and Castle Hill United (Reserve Grade) on clinching the respective premierships. 👏
Now, the focus shifts to finals football.
First Grade will sit out Week 1, while Reserve Grade faces a familiar opponent in a repeat of the 2025 Grand Final, taking on Epping Eastwood in an elimination clash.

Rovers Finish Regular Season with a Gritty Win at Fred Caterson
On a drizzly day at Fred Caterson Reserve, West Ryde Rovers travelled to face Castle Hill United for the final game of the NWSF Premier League regular season, with plenty on the line in both grades.

Reserve Grade: Castle Hill United 2–0 West Ryde Rovers
With finals football at stake and a draw enough to guarantee their spot, Rovers’ Reserve Grade side went into the game low on numbers, with several players filling unfamiliar positions.
The boys battled hard and looked set to secure the result they needed, but two late goals saw the home side claim all three points.
Thankfully results went our way, seeing the boys finish the season in the top 6.

First Grade: Castle Hill United 0–2 West Ryde Rovers
First Grade knew a win would cement second spot heading into the finals, and they got off to the perfect start.
Thomas Guillo opened the scoring inside the first five minutes, giving Rovers an early lead. At the other end, keeper Will was strong between the sticks, helping keep the home side at bay.
Early in the second half, Dylan was brought down inside the box, earning Rovers a penalty. Thomas Guillo stepped up and calmly sent the keeper the wrong way to double the lead.
From there, Rovers dug deep, grinding out the result with some gritty defensive work to secure a well-earned 2–0 victory.
