Round 2 Results - Coach Match Reports
First IX - B Grade
A challenging B-grade debut against one of last year’s finalists. We recovered after a fast start from the opposition to steady the ship but unfortunately weren’t able to put any runs on the board.
The team has 11 quality at bats with Wendell leading off (first B-grade hit), Dylan (H, BB), and Thommo (2B). Lots of upside to take from this one.
Second IX - B Reserve
First game in B grade for the club. The B res team can hold their heads high we were competive for most of the game . Everyone had hard hit balls Nicko started and pitched great , Mado did well catching and Gee turned a good double play at third . Looking foward to see what we can do for the rest of the season
Third IX - E Grade
A close one this week, with the Warriors holding a one-run lead heading into the final innings. Unfortunately, Knox were able to put the game to bed scoring the winning runs.
Some solid moments across the game, just not enough to get it done in the end. Lots to look forward to for the 3’s. Shout out to the guys who played out of position and providing for us in the field.
Women - Division 2
What a game from the SEWBC women—an absolute showcase of grit, teamwork, and some seriously exciting baseball!
From the very first innings, the energy was high and the defence was locked in. Lee, Jayde, and Ebony were everywhere in the field, pulling off some incredible catches to shut down scoring chances and keep the pressure on North Coburg. The standout moment? Jayde’s unreal catch followed by a laser throw to second—textbook ex*****on that turned into what "many" would call a perfect double play.
On the scoreboard, Jude got us rolling by bringing home our first run of the day, giving the team a much-needed spark and momentum. On the mound, Dee was dominant, throwing with confidence and control all game long. Behind the plate, Molly was an absolute rock—handling everything thrown her way with skill and composure, especially impressive given the tricky distance between the plate and the fence.
Every single player contributed, and it truly showed. Despite the challenges and hurdles thrown their way, the team dug deep, supported each other, and played some fantastic baseball from start to finish.
Couldn’t be prouder of this group—heart, hustle, and a whole lot of talent on display.
