**Let me know if you enjoy reading this post. Should I put them up on my page?

The Full Moon Eclipse in Ta**us - Known as a Blood Moon
happens on Tuesday 8th November. The eclipse begins about 7.30 pm

Ta**us the bull is an Earth sign

I always imagine a bull in a meadow of wildflowers contentedly grazing.

Solid and steady, yet you know there is a lot of power and determination.

You don't mess with a bull!
My Moonology study tells me it is time for a physical, emotional or spiritual detox.

I'm trying to put the two together.

Now I can see the blood moon. It's a full moon eclipse, which makes the moon have a red glow.

It's the last one till 2025

It is a time when magic can happen.

People used to fear these strange occurrences but we can explain and tell the exact time they will happen now.

So what is the magic?

Watching the moon is the magic.

Thinking what changes you need to make, what you need to let go of or clear out as the moon changes colour.

Using the power and determination within you.

Create a magical life for yourself.

November Newsletter

We have 7 weeks to Christmas

Our last class is 19th December returning on 9th January

Our Christmas gathering is on December 6th the last Bird Song gathering of the year. Sandra will be teaching us how to wrap beautiful Christmas gifts with things found in nature and my garden.

Let me know your coming along.

There will be a cheese and fruit platter to share and Herbal teas 9.30 – 11.30 am

7 weeks is perfect because it gives us the opportunity to spend a week focusing on each of the 7 chakra.

What are the chakra and how are they connected to yoga?

Described as wheels of light, they are the interconnection of body, mind and spirit.

The science of Yoga & Ayurveda – the science of life begins with teaching us how to understand our health patterns through the elements of EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR & SPACE. That’s the first 5 chakra. Earth is Base Chakra. Water is Sacral Chakra. Fire is Solar plexus Chakra. Air is the Heart Chakra and Space is the Throat Chakra

The last 2 chakra we focus less on the physical body and focus more on the mind and spirit.

More meditation and less yoga asana.

Third Eye Chakra & Crown Chakra – Wisdom and light,

The chakra are described as radiant points of power which also affect our physical bodies as well as mind and spirit.

YOGA ASANA KEEP YOU AWARE OF YOUR BODY AND GROUNDED.

The asana correspond to the different elements and chakra.

The earth element and base chakra is the first chakra we focus on. The asana strengthen the feet and up into the lower back while the meditations strengthen your mind.

Our first week begins with the first Chakra (Earth) and when we move up to the higher chakra we still practice yoga asana and breathing to keep us balanced.

Five minutes of sitting in silence is highly beneficial, but an hour of sitting in silence may drive you crazy! Unless you have spent time strengthening your spine and strengthening and calming your mind. Silence is the 5th Chakra (space) and there is a lot of preparation and practice before you can sit silently and find calm and peace for an hour....5 minutes is all we would ever pactice in class.

Most of us never open our chakra and may never want too, it takes intense sustained spiritual practice. But we can still use the system to create health and well-being.

How do you know which yoga postures to practice for each chakra?

There are many books with this information in. But the names of the postures help you.

Nothing is more stable and strong and connected to the Earth than “The Mountain” asana

The tree is another Earth posture – challenging your balance and stability on one leg.

It’s very common-sense.

We begin with a focus on your breath, your feet and legs, your hips and lower spine. This is the Base Chakra and each week we gradually move up the body and spine.

Each chakra has wonderful inspiring teachings, their own hand gestures known as Mudra, their own colour, their own wisdom teachings, their own yantra, musical notes, breathing exercises, crystals, marma or massage points.

It sounds complex but it is very simple once you understand the energy. If you are wanting to practice a class for the solar plexus chakra knowing the energy is fire, what could be more obvious than a gentle sun salutation and a candle meditation?

IF THIS SOUNDS “AIRY FAIRY” IT IS NOT. ONCE UNDERSTOOD, IT IS COMMON SENSE.

You can easily pinpoint a physical symptom to a chakra imbalance. Lower back issues is the area of the base chakra the asana strengthen your lower back and the meditations help you relax your body.

Feeling teary and emotional. The water element. The yoga is beautiful, flowing routines, try the moon flow. And the teachings for this chakra remind you to learn to forgive and encourage you to add more joy to your life by doing more simple things that make you happy.

If you have had a chest problem or even recovered from breath cancer, you know that’s the area of your heart and heart chakra. The yoga asana are flowing and work through your chest and arms improving lymphatic drainage and the teachings encourage you to love and look after your body.

Health will always change but you know the code, the corresponding area, the chakras and can change your yoga and meditation practice accordingly.

As you become more balanced, healthier in body and mind you experience life differently.

Over time yoga will become a spiritual practice.

I hope to share this with you in class.

Wishing you peace

And joy

This Christmas

The Festival of Lights
Today is Diwali a festival connected to the Indian Goddess Lakshmi
I understand the goddesses as spiritual teachings. We have the qualities within us already.
Lakshmi is the goddess of beauty, love and abundance.
The loveliest qualities to cultivate, experience, feel and most importantly share.
During this time special candles are lit and sweets.... lollies in Australia, are shared.
What about offering the sweeter, gentler, kinder side of yourself to the world for the next 5 days.
It might begin with playing a role. see how it feels, it might become you. This is what it means to embody Lakshmi.
It might not stay with you for long but I hope it stays with you forever.

A ceremony always helps you to make things real.
My mentor Swami Saradananda has given me a beautiful practice for Diwali which I will add a little more too.

After the New Moon tonight at 21:48...I will practice my ceremony tomorrow night as I go to bed early!
Light all the candles in your home and sit quietly with one of them and watch it's flame for as long as you enjoy it.
Afterwards move into your heart and find someone you need to forgive, begin with yourself.
"I'm sorry.
Forgive me.
Thank You.
I love you."

Then write down a wish or intension for the coming year.
It is the New Year in Celtic and Northern Indian Tradition.
Writing your wish down and acting loving and gentle embodies Lakshmi.
Instead of lollies I share the wisdom with you.
Namaste Julie
Essential Oils for your ceremony are the beautiful flowers such as white lotus, rose or jasmine.
Happy Diwali !

My classes
On Monday we practice Hatha, Flow, Yin & Restorative Yoga.
The classes gradually change with the seasons, a cold day and we will be moving and flowing practicing more heating, standing postures. A hot day will find us laying down and practicing more cooling, calming yin and restorative yoga.
Usually we manage to fit in a bit of everything! A gentle flow to warm up, then strengthening Hatha. Yin for flexibility and Restorative Yoga to deeply relax.

Turn on the Sun!
Because it has been cool. We have been working on strength, challenging ourselves with balancing postures such as flying warrior and keeping warm...but there is much more to yoga than physical strength.
The weather is now warming us and this is the time of year I love the most. We spend more time, sitting and laying on the floor practicing Yin & Restorative yoga, breathing, learning the wise teachings and taking them to heart.
Resting and replenishing and becoming much more flexible.
It's a while since we have practiced one of my personal favourite Yin postures, bananasana which stretches through your spine and both sides of your body.
I love bananasana. I hope you do too!

"Yin Time" Begins on Monday.
How much Yin yoga, Restorative yoga and meditation do you practice?
The Moon guides you through a monthly cycle of being busy for about 2 weeks of "Yang Time" directly after the New Moon.
Then 2 weeks of "Yin Time" after the Full Moon.
"Yin Time" is the cycle most of us miss out on in our busy modern lives, we forget to rest, then run on empty and wonder why we often feel tired and exhausted.
Many of us look outward to create changes in our lives but it must first be created within us, during the feminine Yin cycle.

In my Monday classes I keep the one hour balanced with:
30 minutes of Yang - Hatha Yoga & Flow Yoga
30 minutes of Yin - Yin yoga, Restorative Yoga & Meditation.
This week we'll focus on the solar plexus (fire element) learn samana vayu or nourishing breath and learn a chant to balance the chakra, the energy in our bodies. My classes are planned using the knowledge of Yoga & Ayurveda.

Class times on Mondays at Empire Bay Hall:
8.15 am - Gentle Yoga.
9.30 am - Hatha Yoga.
6 pm - Hatha Yoga.
*NEW Wednesday Class & Workshop 5.15 pm - 6.45 pm.
Following the Moon - Women's Yoga Circle is a purely yin/restorative class to balance and nourish the fire element within us.
Specific Yin/Restorative asana for the Solar Plexus.
Marma Massage Therapy - Finding the place of the moon.
Using my soothing, warming blend of sesame, frankincense and cinnamon.
Sing or chant - Chakra Balancing Chant. Ram for the Solar Plexus and the lovely Celtic Moon Chant.
We finish with a candle meditation to balance the fire element before resting in Savasana.

This Full Moon Yin cycle is pretty special and begins on Monday morning - 10th October.
It is the beginning of the Full Moon Year!
The Aries Full Moon and a powerful time, astrologically speaking it is harmonising with Venus, Saturn and then Mars.
REST. RESET. RESTORE.
Follow the link and discover free yoga and meditation practices to work with the moon energy. The fire element. The Solar Plexus Chakra.

October Newsletter

The benefits of practicing at home
Spring is a time for positive changes.
Making a special space in your home to practice yoga and meditation really does encourage you to spend time there and the more you practice the more you benefit, physically, mentally and spiritually.
If your mat is set up in a lovely spot with perhaps a candle, flowers, crystals. inspiring books, house plants and other things you love. You are drawn to your space more and more.
A place of privacy, rest, relaxation and nurturing in your own home is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Ask Bev..she has set up her own special space and inspired this section of the newsletter.
You can even practice my classes in your space for free.
Or even better start the Yoga & Ayurveda Course.
A women’s path to health & well -being can begin in your lovely space.
A Laptop is best, phones are small and tinny and you lose the good vibes.

Yoga for October
There has been so much rain….rain is obviously the water element and it may be a bit out of balance within you at the moment! Physically it can make you more prone to “wet” conditions such as colds, coughs and flu. Add the heat and the very humid conditions can cause oedema which will be noticed more in your ankles and hands but also bloating and more fluid around your heart. Fungal conditions increase and it is important to look after your skin, with skin brushing and special oil blends. See last Octobers 2021 Newsletter for more information on Gentle Cleansing practices for spring.
Mentally too much rain causes too much moaning!
You may have been feeling down, lethargic perhaps, even depression can increase
We focus on the weather so much because it effects us in many ways. Our holidays can be a wash out, we stay indoors mare than is good for us and studies have shown we cry more.
How do we stay balanced?
Practice a lot of gentle flow yoga. Online classes on my website recommended include: The Sacral Chakra Flow Class. The Tree of Life. The Heart Flow Class. The Moon Flow Class which can be adapted to practice in a chair or cross legged. They will really improve a lot of the above mentioned symptoms. All are excellent for the immune system and lymphatic drainage helping with all the physical symptoms mentioned above. They are classes that leave you feeling joyful and loving.
In class this month we will practice asana and movement to help balance the Water Element. Which is also part of the Sacral chakra and Kapha Dosha. We will practice lots of lovely flowing movement choreographed by me to the beautiful music of Sacred Earth and listen to inspiring, joyful and beautiful teachings.
Yoga can change your mind.
Keep singing in the rain and don’t forget your beautiful smile... Namaste Julie

“Everyday my relationship with myself grows stronger.
I am aware of and accepting of my weaknesses and strengths and I am designing a wonderful future.”
Understanding the energies of Yoga and following the seasons and moon cycle’s allows you to move deeper into your yoga/meditation practice. Yoga is a spiritual practice.

The New Moon is in Libra at 7.54 am on Monday 26th and it’s perfect for planning my yoga classes next week.
Join me for a beautiful Heart Flow Class at Empire Bay Hall or practice the class free on my website http://www.learningcirclesyoga.com/427750922

Libra is an Air sign (A "lovely" sign)
Air is the element of the Heart Chakra

New beginnings, a time to improve relationships and practice self-love.
The key word is harmony.

Yoga Asana – Yin & Restorative Heart Openers
Hatha Asana to strengthen your chest, heart, shoulders arms and hands.

Meditations - My favourite is the beautiful Metta Meditation.
This is a shortened version.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I be peaceful and content.
May I be filled with loving kindness.

Essential Oil – Jasmine. It’s flowering at the moment and will help you remember next year when the New Moon will be moving into Libra.
Jasmine opens your heart to feeling unconditional love. In Eastern Medicine the dried flower is a powerful cleansing herb to help treat breast problems and even cancer. (Heart Chakra imbalances)

Mudra to practice – Chin Mudra with index and thumb joined for peace, joy & stress relief. Practice during my Heart Flow Class & Padma Mudra or Lotus Gesture and its beautiful teachings are also in my Heart Flow Class.

Mantra – Sing your heart out to your favourite songs. Buddha’s Blessings is lovely.

Planning yoga classes is simple and easy when you understand how to use the energies as a template.
I hope this helps you in your home practice too.
Namaste Julie
Bird Song – Women’s Circle 20th September is a special one, my beautiful White Waratah is flowering, this is a photo from last year and the Jasmine…….

Following the Moon has taken me to some beautiful places. The Full Moon in Pisces was lovely with a storm out in the East. We disturbed a couple of wallabies on our way home in the dark and met family for pizza at the waterfront at Hardys Bay. This is one simple way to add more magic to your life. Using the Moon cycles as reminders to connect back with nature. To sit quietly somewhere as the sky is darkening and watch the show.

Following the Moon - Full Moon in Pisces on Saturday 10th

The full moon reflects the suns light back down onto earth.

It is said to reflect our emotions.

It is said to intensify them.

This can be a good thing.

Positive emotions will be enhanced but negative emotions also.

Breathe and look carefully.

Use your negative emotions as teachers.

What needs to change in your life?

Pisces is a sensitive, watery sign.
Tears are the best medicine and help you let go, to forgive, to learn from the experience and grow stronger. Researchers have established that crying releases oxytocin and endogenous opioids, also known as endorphins. These feel-good chemicals help ease both physical and emotional pain.

Energetically once you release something, you have space for renewal.

Dream on...wait till the New Moon to begin to make plans.

Learning to forgive is not easy.... I always get a lot of positive feedback when I teach this meditation...taught to me during Yin Teacher Training thank you Carrie-Ann Fields.
The Forgiveness Meditation is Class 7 of my Strong Women Series

Our first Bird Song Women’s Circle gathering was beautiful and I am hosting an extra one this month. We chatted over tea. It was better to let the morning flow and the group decision was to meet again in a fortnight and hold The Gentle Spring Cleanse Workshop then.
It seems we all love music and I wanted it to be organic and so we ended the circle with my special remuna singing bowl tuned for the heart and crown chakra and the lovely Buddha’s Blessing’s Chant – Om Mani Padme Om – Wisdom comes when mind and heart are one. Then we settled in to silence.
The first pink flowers are appearing on the apricot tree and by 20th September all the fruit trees will be blossoming. A new circle/cycle is beginning.
There are spaces if you’d like to come along on 20th September
9.30 - 11.30 am
