G'day everyone! Just a quick post before Karate starts for the year this week.
For some time now the instructors and I have been talking about some strict changes to our junior class. Times have changed, as have students, however...our karate is a traditional martial art, that requires discipline, respect and concentration as base principles.
We are in the process of writing a "Code of conduct", expectations for our students, instructors and visitors (parents and spectators). This code of conduct will be provided to all as soon as completed.
As a brief overview however, as of this week;
- All students will be expected to stay in the training area for the full duration of class unless given permission to leave by an instructor. This includes running off for a drink, breaks will be provided.
- All students will be expected to listen and concentrate for the duration of class.
-The Dojo is a class room / learning area and will be treated with respect. Clowning around will not be tolerated.
- If a student is disruptive to class they will be asked to leave.
- Whilst a student is in the Dojo, they are under the instructors duty of care. Parents, siblings of students, or visitors will not be permitted to enter the training area without permission.
- if parents, visitors or siblings are distracting to class they will be asked to leave.

By refocusing on our traditional Japanese roots and traditions, we'd like to create a constructive environment for learning. Should you have any concerns, please contact me directly.
