ROUND 8 | AWAY GAME I MARVY

The first time these two sides met, it was tough.

Now, for the second time in 2026, the Emerald Tigers and Springsure Mountainmen go head-to-head with the Mountainmen in their territory.

Both teams know exactly what is coming.

Our boys make the trip to Bauhinia Park looking to continue building momentum, but standing in their way is a Mountainmen outfit that prides itself on toughness and never making things easy and a tough Springsure crowd.

If you love hard, old-fashioned country rugby league, this is one you won’t want to miss.

🎗️🖤 BLACK OUT ROUND 🖤🎗️

On June 20th, Team Green became Team Black.

Not for a rivalry.
Not for a special jersey.
But for a cause bigger than football.

The Emerald Tigers proudly hosted our Black Out Round, raising funds for two incredible organisations that support our community every day:

🎗️ Emerald headspace and Central Highlands
🎗️ Emerald Neighbourhood Centre

As we recognised Men’s Mental Health Week and continued to promote Mental Health Awareness, we were reminded that not every battle is fought on the football field.

Mental health affects our mates, our teammates, our families and our children. In a world where young people face increasing pressures from social media, study, work, relationships and the expectations of modern society, organisations like Headspace and the Emerald Neighbourhood Centre provide support when it matters most.

Mental Health Is Part Of Our Game.

A huge thank you to everyone who purchased jerseys, placed bids, donated, volunteered and supported the cause. Every dollar raised helps strengthen the support services available throughout our community.

🖤THE TIGRESSES DEFEND THE DEN 34-12🖤

The Tigresses set the bench mark for the night laying out a challenge to the men. LETS DEFEND OUR DEN🫡

In true Tigresses style they came in game two roaring with a tough 34–12 victory over the Dysart Bulls, built on grit, defence and a whole lot of Tiger pride.

🔥 Elly May crossed for a hat-trick, while skipper Tamyra Hunter matched her with 3 tries of her own.

💪 Jade Belleville was enormous through the middle, finishing with 22 tackles and 12 hit ups to lead the way for the girls.

⚡ Jorgie Mitchell was everywhere, racking up 16 tackles and 7 hit ups while providing plenty of spark around the ruck.

⭐ Congratulations to Kate Todd on making her Emerald Tigers debut and taking home the Players’ Player Award. A fantastic effort and a well-deserved recognition from her teammates.

💚 It was also great to welcome Gabi Williams back to the side. Gabi made an immediate impact with 11 strong hit ups. We missed ya, Gab — welcome home!

🏅 TUAGALU TAKES TOP HONOURS 🏅

When Joseph Tuagalu arrived in Emerald earlier this year, he came looking for a fresh start. What the Tigers found was a young man willing to give everything for his teammates, his coach and his club. 🟢⚫️⚪️

Ask Joe to do a job and he’ll do it. Need a tough carry, a big defensive effort or a moment to lift the crowd? He’s your man. A fan favourite in green and black, and a nightmare for anyone standing on the opposite side of the field.

His relentless drive, intensity and commitment have not gone unnoticed. On Saturday night, Joe’s efforts were recognised by award selectors, taking home the prestigious Jack Hornery Medal Presented by John Duroux before also being named the Wbq Projects Pty Ltd Player Pick presented by Wayne Quinlin.

A well-deserved reward for a player who leaves nothing in the tank every time he pulls on the Tigers jersey.
