Well we finally got the opportunity to test out what all this 5 speed business is about and all I can say is wow ! The car responded well to it and on the second pass it was just meant to be a soft a-b pass and the car set a Pb mph in the 1/8th at 202mph !

Whilst there is positives you can see in the video that the blower put the panels out at around the 1000ft. We are still at a loss to why it happened and I will have to dive deeper into the car and dissect it to discover what the cause was. The engine turns over fine and the rockers were perfect ! It’s definitely a fuel issue but we will get to the bottom of it

In light of this we regrettably will not be attending the East Coast nationals in Sydney at the end of September as time constraints and work commitments see that I will not have the time to go over the car after it went pop and get it together to a standard I’m happy with.

The engine will be getting a birthday in the off season and we will look to test around march-April before going to the nitro champs in Sydney !

It’s greatly appreciated for the people behind the scenes who helped make the 5 speed idea a reality 🫶🏼

Massive thankyou to Blaze for working his tail off finished the car off after changing over the the 5 speed whilst getting his own bike ready to race !

Shane for booking a last minute flight to help was very appreciated by all!

Ray from Western Suburbs Differential and Gearbox Services for rushing a new carbon tailshaft here in time to test bloody legend !

To the crew Pete for jumping in and usual suspects Wayne and Dustin for coming out and helping out ! Also to dad for all of his running around and help getting the car to the track on his open trailer !

However whilst the Monaro won’t run again this season this won’t be the last you see of me in Doorslammer this year.

The last few weekends have been rather busy and eventful !

First of was the emerald car show debuting the funny car ! The Emerald Car Club Inc surprised me with a beer mat with the Monaro on it which was a surprise and very appreciated ! Massive thankyou to Pete Hughes for the lend of the open trailer to get it there and just all the help he gives !

Then the next weekend we spent the day helping Reece Northfield! There was a small electrical gremlin plaguing the team but he got one good pass in and it’s showing HUGE potential. Bring on Sydney big guy !

It’s been a fun few weekends but now our focus returns to the Monaro and the East Coast Nationals ! We will be testing this coming Thursday before the pro stock nationals with the new 5 speed to get myself up to speed with the new routine before we head to Sydney !

Introducing the new Rob Harrington Motorsports Outlaws funny car 🏁

With dad having a blown big block sitting in his shed and the opportunity came up to buy long time family friend Steve Swinscoes funny car.

After some deliberation we decided to buy it. It will sport a psi blown big block with a monster glide behind it sporting a fueltech system on board.

I’ll be doing the initial licensing but the car will mainly be to go have fun with and let any crew member on the Monaro have a steer if they wish with one already positioned the be the main driver !

There is no time frame on getting the car on track it’ll be a tick along project so it will hit the track whenever it hits the track.

I feel incredibly blessed to have this opportunity to go have some more fun with my mates and give back to those who have given so much to me.

Now onto Jambo to chill out and crew for a mate. If there is anywhere to be this weekend it’s at Willowbank Raceway | Drag Racing's Finest for Jamboree🤘🏼🏁

🚨 🚨 🚨

5 speed liberty goes into Bad influence II BEHIND THE CLUTCH 😈

Something we have wanted to try for awhile is a 5 speed behind the clutch and now we will get to try that idea in Sydney for the East coast nationals thanks to some amazing humans lending it to us to try 🏁

I still will be FOOT swapping and SHIFTING the gears manually still so it’s gonna be a steep learning curve. We are beyond excited to have a go with it and see how the car reacts !

Massive thanks to Blaze who has been putting in the hours to change the car to suit the liberty as it hasn’t been a simple throw the box in and send it. Along with the upgrades on the driver intrusion bars for a new safety upgrade implemented in July !

This is going to be one hell of a ride and it’s one I cannot wait to experience it 🤘🏼😈

Tune in Saturday afternoon at 3pm on 7 mate to watch all the action from the Sydney round !

We went 3 from 3 and only but only managed the C final win! All in all it was a great weekend for our first showing in Sydney. Can’t wait to do it all again in September 🤘🏼🤘🏼
