Coach Mentoring Opportunity at NQ Champs.

COACH MENTOR PROGRAM

Are you a developing coach looking for a mentor or some advice?

Do you want to further advance your coaching knowledge by teaming up with an experienced coach?
If so, ANQ has an opportunity just for you!

During the upcoming North Queensland Championships, ANQ will be giving an opportunity to developing coaches to spend some quality time with an experienced coach. During the weekend, each participant will team up with a mentor coach who you will shadow around. You will have opportunities to speak to the coach about training, competition, nutrition etc and watch them coaching in action.

Participants will meet up with their coach at a specific time over the course of the weekend depending on the timetable of events. To be entitled to this exciting opportunity, you must be actively coaching and be currently registered (2026 season) with Athletics Australia.

🙌Thank you to those athletes & families who turned up for our last club day of the season. Was great to see the parents helping out & also having a go at the games. 👍

📍Thank you to the committee, coaches, officials and families for your assistance throughout the season - it really does make a big difference when we all chip in & help out.

🏃🏼‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️ thanks to the wonderful athletes who joined our club this year. They showed respect, good sportsmanship, were great club role models at away carnivals, helped set up & pack up and put in heaps of effort each week. Every week new PB's were being made and club records beat from day 1💥. So be super proud of your efforts everyone!

🌟Also, best of luck to club athletes who have made it to State School trials & those competing in Townsville over the holidays. Give it ya best & you'll have no regrets!!

Last club day of the season tomorrow, Sunday 13th Sept, 3PM. As it was a bit hot last week, we've decided to start a little later in the day.
Canteen specials will be nachos, sausages in bread & iceblocks.

Mums, dads, grandparents, carers... all welcome to join in with activities.

Athletics North Queensland is excited to announce a Level 2 Development Coach Course coming to Rockhampton on October 3–4, 2026!

The Level 2 Development Coach accreditation is designed for coaches working with athletes 12 years and older, supporting athletes through the Introduction to Training and Training I (General) stages of development.

Throughout the course, coaches will develop their knowledge and skills in:
🔹 Basic technical models of track & field events
🔹 Biomotor skills and athlete development
🔹 Coaching athletes competing at local, regional and state level
🔹 Developing athletes through appropriate training principles

Whether you're already coaching or looking to build your coaching knowledge, this is a great opportunity to further develop your skills and support the next generation of athletes. 💙💚
