Emerald Lakers Basketball Club Inc. Our teams train at Emerald Primary School Basketball Stadium
Monday - Thursdays 4pm - 8pm. The Emerald Lakers Basketball Club is a community based club.

We consist of junior boys and girls teams, competing in the Knox Amateur Basketball Association, catering for ages 5 to 22. Our club is committed to providing a non-discriminative opportunity for all levels of players to join in and have some fun. Where possible, teams are graded according to age and ability to provide each team the opportunity to compete against equally skilled teams from other c

lubs. Parents and older players are encouraged to participate as coaches, team managers or committee members. Most games are played on Saturdays, in and around the Knox area. Some age group games are played on a Sunday afternoon or evening. Basketball has 2 seasons each year, allowing the game to be played all year round (excluding school and public holidays). The indoor stadiums provide the opportunity to play in all weather conditions. Fees are kept to a minimum and contribute to team entry fees and court hire. We have a small group of dedicated volunteers providing the youth of Emerald and it's surrounds a positive outlet for all their energy. Come and keep fit and have fun! We’re finalising teams now, and there are only a handful of spots left. If you want to play this season, you need to move now.

Big weekend for our Lakers 💚🏀

Encouragement Day and Preliminary Finals are all happening this Saturday.
📍 State Basketball Centre📅 Saturday 21 March

Our Under 8s take the court for Encouragement Day, focused on confidence, effort and enjoying the game.

We’ve also got multiple teams playing in preliminary finals, with plenty on the line. The committee will be there covering scoring, so everything runs smoothly and families can focus on the games!

There’s a lot of green on court this weekend. Love to see the support around it. Go Lakers!

🩵💛 Knox Basketball Coach Education Roadshow Visits Emerald 🟢

Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming Gerard Hillier, Coach Education Manager of Knox Basketball, up to Emerald as part of the Knox Basketball Coach Education Roadshow.

This session marked the beginning of a broader commitment from Knox Basketball to support the ongoing development of our coaching group and the association's domestic clubs. Investing in our coaches means better experiences, stronger teams and clearer pathways for every player in our club.

It was excellent to see so many Lakers coaches in attendance. The engagement, questions and willingness to learn says a lot about the culture we’re building.

A sincere thank you to Gerard and Knox Basketball for making the trip up the hill and sharing their expertise with our community.

We’re looking forward to continuing the journey and strengthening our coaching program together.

🏀 Winter Season Registration & Grading

Winter season registrations are now open.

Team allocation and grading sessions will be held to support balanced teams and positive player development across the season.

📅 Sunday 1 March – Boys
📅 Sunday 15 March – Girls
📍 Emerald Primary School Stadium

Please arrive 10 minutes early and enter via the front foyer.

This season, coaches are closely involved in the grading process. We are considering skill level, development, team chemistry, friendships, and whether players are looking to compete strongly or play more socially.

Some movement between teams or grades may occur to ensure balanced and competitive teams.

📧 Current players will receive a detailed email, and full session times are available in your team WhatsApp groups.
👉 NEW PLAYERS - Please email the appropriate coordinator for session times and additional details!
