🏕️🏹 MOONAN FLAT CLASSIC 2026 — CAMPING INFORMATION! 🏹🏕️

Planning on making a weekend of it at The Moonan Flat Classic — 3rd & 4th October? ⛰️🔥 Here’s everything you need to know about camping!

There are TWO camping options available 👇🏼

⛺ OPTION 1 — FREE CAMPING
Free camping is available for those wanting to set up and enjoy the weekend onsite.
⚠️ Please note: free camping does NOT include the use of showers.

🚐 OPTION 2 — PAID CAMPING
Want access to the facilities? Paid camping includes use of the showers & toilets.

Paid camping is booked directly through the Caretaker, Peter.

Tents and caravans are both welcome, so pack the camping gear, load up the bows and settle in for a cracking weekend in the mountains! 🏹⛰️

It’s nearly time to head back to the mountain… and this one is always a weekend to remember! 🤙🏻🔥

Cessnock Archer’s Inc. are gearing up for The Moonan Flat Classic — 3rd & 4th October 2026 and if you haven’t experienced a Moonan weekend before, this is your sign to get amongst it!

🏹 5 awesome ranges across the mountain designed to test your ability, agility and maybe your legs !

Cancelled !!!

🌧️ SANCTIONED SHOOT CANCELLED – THIS WEEKEND 🌧️
Unfortunately, our Committee has had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our sanctioned shoot scheduled for this weekend.

Due to the extent of the rain we have received, access to Minnamurra Scout Camp and the surrounding property has been significantly impacted. The safety of everyone attending, as well as respecting the property and preventing unnecessary damage, must come first.

We know how much work has gone into preparing for this weekend and how many people were looking forward to joining us. We are just as disappointed to have to make this call.

We are currently working with 3DAAA to explore the possibility of rescheduling the shoot to an alternate weekend and will share further information as soon as we can.

A huge thank you to our members, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and everyone who had planned to travel to Dubbo. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support.

Unfortunately, the weather just wasn't prepared to cooperate with us this time! 🌧️🏹

🏹 Sanctioned Shoot Etiquette – Please Read 🏹

As we prepare for our sanctioned shoot this weekend at Minnamurra Scout Camp, we ask everyone attending to be mindful that the site is located within and surrounded by private property.

To help us minimise disruption to our neighbouring landholders and ensure we can continue to use this fantastic location, please follow the guidelines below:

• Leaving the site: If you are not camping, please plan to leave at a reasonable time and before sunset.
• Gates: Please ensure all gates are closed behind you at all times. Do not leave gates open, even temporarily.
• Private property: Please remain within the designated Scout Camp and shoot areas. No wandering or accessing surrounding land when shooting is not taking place, as this is private property.
• Rubbish: Please help us leave the area as we found it by picking up all rubbish both around the course and within the campgrounds.
• Driving through the property: Please drive carefully and respectfully at all times, remembering that we are travelling through working private property to access the site.
• Pets: No pets, including dogs, are permitted on the grounds or within the camping areas.

We greatly appreciate everyone helping us to be respectful visitors and good neighbours throughout the weekend.

A little consideration from everyone goes a long way in helping our club maintain positive relationships and continue holding shoots at this location.

The countdown is on! Join us this Sunday for another fantastic Cessnock Archers Club Shoot at our Elrington range. 🏹🤠

After what was an awesome weekend away at the PSA shoot for our members let’s back it up and keep that momentum going as we spend the next few weeks preparing for Dubbo’s shoot ! 💚🦏

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, fine-tuning your setup, or simply looking to enjoy a day in the bush with great company, we’d love to see you there. There’s nothing better than fresh air, friendly competition, and spending the day with an awesome archery community.

🏹 Good luck to all of our Cessnock Archers members competing at the Manning Valley PSA Sanctioned Shoot this weekend! 🏹🤠💛

Wishing every one of our shooters the very best as you head out to represent our club. Trust your preparation, shoot with confidence, and remember to enjoy every target along the way.

Travel safely to everyone still making the journey, look after one another, and most importantly have an awesome weekend catching up with friends and enjoying another great weekend of archery.

No matter the scores, we’re proud to see our members out there giving it their all and representing Cessnock Archers with pride.

🏹🌿 More Than a Shoot... It's a Weekend to Remember! 🌿🏹

With just a week to go, we're looking forward to welcoming archers from across NSW to Manning Great Lakes Archers for our PSA Inaugural Sanctioned Shoot on 1st & 2nd August.

This weekend is about so much more than scores.

It's about catching up with old friends, making new ones, sharing plenty of laughs around the range, and enjoying everything that makes our archery community so special.

One of the highlights of our Inaugural Sanctioned Shoot is almost here!

Join us for Shermo's Shoot Out, our Exhibition Match held in honour of the late Andrew "Shermo" Sherman—a great archer, mentor and friend whose passion for our sport continues to inspire so many.

Located above the Black Head Ocean Baths & Surf Club.

This beautiful coastal location is home to Shermo's memorial plaque, making it the perfect place to come together as an archery community to celebrate his legacy.

Shermo wasn't just an outstanding archer—he was someone who encouraged others, shared his knowledge freely, and made our sport better simply by being part of it. This shoot is our way of celebrating his life and the friendships he built throughout the 3DAAA community.
