A LEGACY OF DEDICATION
After more than half a century of unwavering commitment, Ged McCormick has officially retired from his role with the Elmore & District Machinery Field Days, closing an extraordinary chapter defined by dedication, community spirit, and quiet leadership.
Ged’s first contributions to the Elmore & District Machinery Field Days were to the general operations, and he was first appointed Chair of Static Display Committee before advancing to Executive Officer, a task which he filled with enthusiasm and plain hard work.
Nominated a life Governor in 2003 Ged has been a constant presence behind the scenes and on the ground, helping shape one of regional Victoria’s most respected agricultural events.
His contribution spans generations—watching the Field Days grow from a modest local gathering into a major annual event that draws visitors, exhibitors, and industry leaders from across the country.
As the Elmore & District Machinery Field Days look toward the future, they do so standing on the shoulders of people like Ged McCormick. His 52 years of service are more than a milestone—they are a testament to what sustained commitment can achieve.
