Southern Junior Dirt Bike Club

Southern Junior Dirt Bike Club This Club is for girls and boys up to and including sixteen years of age. Track meetings at start at 10.00am and finish at 3.00pm.

Its aim is to channel the enthusiasm of young people with mini-bikes in the right direction within a safe environment and increase their riding skills. The club has been in existence for over 40 years and is a friendly, informal, non-competitive environment for boys and girls aged up to sixteen years of age. Focusing on fun and friendship rather than on competition, it has a family like atmosphere

where riders of all ages and skill levels can enjoy riding dirt bikes. Riders are divided into grades based on their age, ability and the bike they ride to ensure a safe environment for all. We have many different circuits catering to riders of all skill levels, from beginners through to the more experienced and advanced riders. In addition to the variety of tracks there are skill building obstacles that riders can choose to practice on and trail rides that are suited to our littlest riders as well as some that will challenge the most experienced of riders! The club meets at the Elderslie property every second Sunday from February through to December. To operate effectively the club relies very heavily on the supervision and support of parents and guardians of riders. It is a Club rule that a responsible adult must accompany riders while riding on any track or using the obstacles. Parents and guardians are encouraged to help by acting as marshals and scorers or assisting with maintenance of the track and other facilities. There are limited canteen facilities provided each meet. Families may purchase sausages and hamburgers from the BBQ at lunchtime and also available throughout the day are lolly bags and cans of soft drink. The club is a non-profit organisation with a commitment to supporting the development and enjoyment in riding dirt bikes, but above all, doing so in a safe way. We use all funds from memberships and track days to support the running of the club, with all people involved donating their time and services. INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Hi Everyone,
Thankyou to everyone who has put their hand up to help out this year. The club will definitely need people being involved moving forward.

There will be a working bee on Saturday the 29th of March. We will need some ride on mowers and brushcutters to have a tidy up, will hopefully be able to organise a Bobcat to do track work aswell.

Please reply/comment on this post if you are able to attend so as I can get an idea of numbers on the day.

First meet back for this year will be held on the 13th of April! We are looking forward to seeing you all back for another year.

Regards,
Mark.

Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing well. The time has come to start organising the club for this year, for the club to run successfully for the duration of the year, we will need people to join the committee. Last year as you all know the club didn't really have a formal committee due to previous members leaving the club due to their child's age.

I thank everyone who helped out last year with cooking and kitchen duties, scoring, obstacles etc. Your help was very much appreciated.

For this year to run efficiently and smoothly the club needs permanent committee members who will help run the club on a fortnightly basis, and also have input on how the club runs and things we can improve on / change.

I am not prepared to take on all duties myself this year and feel that a club that generally has 50+ members a year, should not be in such a position where we do not have a committee.

So looking forward, we will need to have a working bee at the club to tidy up the club ready for the start of the year. Dates for this will be announced shortly.

At this stage I am putting it out there to form a committee before any start dates are announced. This will ensure that when we do kick off for the year I am not in the position I was last year.

I hope you all understand my position. Please reach out if you are interested in being involved.

Regards,
Mark.

Hi Everyone,
Just putting it out there, that I will need a hand tomorrow in the kitchen, etc. As there is a fair bit to organise with trophy presentation and Christmas Party.
Many thanks.

Hi all,
The final meet for the year will be this Sunday the 8th of December, this is the Christmas Party and Trophy Presentation. We encourage that all paid members attend to collect participation awards and obstacle trophies. If you've paid your child's membership for the year, you're entitled to a trophy and if you'd like them to receive it, please show up on the day. We also ask that parents please bring along a plate of party food - sweet or savoury. The BBQ will also be provided, but drinks, lollies and chocolates will still be normal price.
Kind Regards :)

Hi all,
Just a reminder that there is no meet tomorrow, the club will resume on the 15th of September. Also with the current weather conditions it would be unsafe to be riding regardless.
Hope everyone can understand.

Regards,
Mark.
