📣 UPDATE: The Queensland government has updated its restrictions that apply to tennis overnight until 4pm Sunday August 22 in South East Queensland.
❗ Please note: tennis clubs will make their own interpretations on the practicality of this advice, and will apply what is reasonable to them in keeping the community safe.
✅ Tennis is a permitted form of exercise but you cannot participate in organised matches or fixtures.
✅ You can play with small groups but you must not have more than 10 people gathering if you are in an impacted area.
✅ It is recommended that you wear a mask when physical distance cannot be maintained and whenever you are inside a club house or similar.
✅ Take sensible precautions like not sharing equipment
❌ Organised community sport is still not permitted, which includes tournaments, fixtures, group tennis coaching and social competitions.
🎾Restrictions for Cairns and Yarrabah - until 4pm Wednesday August 11
For sport, recreation and fitness organisations, this still means that during the lockdown period:
• Organised community sport, recreation and fitness is not permitted
• Non-essential businesses are not allowed to operate - this includes gyms, indoor and outdoor pools, recreation centres and PCYC sport and recreation programs
• You can exercise away from your home, within 10km, with your household group and/or one other person not from your household.
We thank you for your ongoing co-operation as we keep our sport and community safe.
