Rest easy, Charlie 🤍
Vale Charlie “Chuckles” Budwee 🤍🕊️
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a true club legend, Charlie Budwee — known to us all as “Chuckles”.
Charlie passed peacefully on Sunday morning with Blaire by his side.
Chuckles was one of those rare individuals who left every person he met better than he found them. His warmth, humour, and genuine care for others meant that anyone who spent time with him walked away smiling. He always made space for people, always checked in, and always gave his time freely. He was, in every sense, salt of the earth.
A proud club centurion, Charlie represented our colours from Prems through to 3rd Grade. Even after finishing his own match, he would be straight into helping the Prems and Ressies — running water, carrying messages, doing whatever was needed without hesitation. His commitment to the club and its people was unwavering.
He was a constant presence in the clubrooms, chatting with supporters, sharing laughs with players across all grades, and signing off every sentence with his trademark “Bro”. His spirit, generosity, and joy for life helped shape the culture we are proud of today.
Charlie “Chuckles” Budwee will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Our deepest condolences go out to Blaire, his wife, and all of Charlie’s friends and family during this difficult time. Our thoughts are also with his community at both Hills Rugby & Alkimos Tigers Touch who we know share our loss.
Rest in peace, Chuck, and go easy on the angels — they’ve got work to do “Bro”
