Farewell Loz, Rest-in-Peace
Pleasing to see so many of the CBs family paying their respects to Laurie this morning at Wallsend. (* denotes Life Member) The family were presented with engraved white and blue petalled, silver stemmed, roses and a sympathy card from the club. RIP Laurie.

Coaches' Award for 2025/26
This high-prized award deservedly went to Nathan Wilcher who gained the benefits of his hard work at pre-season with some stand out performances with the ball in 3s, becoming a fixture of that team in the season just gone and with the sky being the limit in future seasons. Well done Nathan! Award was presented by Mr Gavin Wilson, who assumes the Head Coach role for 2026/27

The family has advised that Laurie's funeral will take place at 10am next Friday (15 May) at Pettigrew's in Wallsend. It'd be great to see as many CBs members there as possible to give Loz a fine send off.

Passing of Life Member - Mr Laurie McGuinness
The CBs family is devastated to announce the passing of Life Member Laurie McGuinness yesterday - 4 days short of his 71st birthday. We pass on our heartfelt condolences to his family at this terrible time. Laurie was a well-respected and genuine long-term supporter of our great club; ever enthusiastic and encouraging all to success. Laurie served on the committee for many years for which he was recognised with Life Membership. He loved a yarn, knew Newcastle cricket inside and out, and was instrumental is us gaining and maintaining our long-term relationship with Cardiff RSL. Rest easy Laurie may the beer be cold and the sun ever shining on the great cricket ground in the sky!
