There is something for everyone these school holidays at the Blackwood Recreation Centre! We offer both daily workshops for an exciting morning activity or full day bookings for a whole day of VacFun fun!

Full Day Bookings - $55, Workshops: $22 (10:30am - 12pm)

Joining us for our Full Day Bookings will include:
🛼Skating: All day, bring your own or use ours. Blades and 4 wheel skates areavailable.
🤸Gym: 3 super tramps, beams, bars, gym mats and shapes.
🏀Stadium: Skating, basketball, soccer and group games.
🎨Craft: Various arts and crafts activities daily.

Our VacFun Program runs in all school holidays throughout the year. VacFun runs week days with drop off from 8am and latest collection by 6pm. Please note, VacFun does not run on Public Holidays.

👟 Walk a Mile Summary 👟
In August, the Blackwood Rec Centre community came together to support the Hutt Street Centre’s Walk a Mile in My Boots campaign, raising funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness.

As part of the campaign, we hosted our own Walk a Mile in My Boots event with a walk through Belair National Park and when we say our community showed up, we mean they really showed up! Despite the weather doing its best to keep everyone at home, 20 brave members of our community pulled on their walking shoes, grabbed their rain jackets and joined us for the walk, raising $170.

The fundraising continued throughout the month, with our community also generously contributing through our online fundraising page and our in-centre charity collection box, totalling in $533.55 raised!

We were also incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsor, , who generously donated to support our team and help us reach our fundraising goals.

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the rain, donated, contributed to our collection box, supported us online or helped spread the word. We are so proud of our community for getting behind the campaign and helping make a difference.

✨ Additional Class Annoucement - Stay Steady ✨

We’ve got some exciting news for our Stay Steady community, we’re adding an additional class to the timetable! Now running Wednesdays at 9am and 10am, we've doubled the space to keep twice as many people staying steady.

Designed especially for seniors, this fun and supportive chair-based program combines gentle seated and standing exercises to help you feel steadier, stronger, and more independent in your everyday life. Take a step towards feeling your best, because feeling good starts with staying steady!

🏆 Congratulations Lilly! 🏆

A huge congratulations to one of our incredible CSO team members Lilly Andrews on being named the 2026 SANFLW U18 Leadership Award recipient!

Voted for by her fellow members of the leadership group, this award is a wonderful recognition of Lilly’s leadership, resilience and commitment to her team. Despite missing the season due to injury, Lilly continued to demonstrate what true leadership looks like by supporting her teammates and leading by example both on and off the field.

We’re incredibly proud to see Lilly recognised for the impact she has made within her team and community!!
