🥋 Congratulations to our three students who competed in Melbourne today!

A huge congratulations to Maddy, George and Adam for stepping up and taking on the challenge at today’s grappling competition.

🏆 Maddy came away with a 2nd and 3rd place
🥉 George secured 3rd place
🥉 Adam also secured 3rd place

But beyond the medals, what impressed us most was seeing them head down to Melbourne on their own, put themselves out there and take on the challenge.

That takes courage, confidence and commitment.

Well done, team. True champions. 👊

A huge thank you to Hélio “Soneca” Moreira for spending the past few days with us at Wickham’s Martial Arts.

Not only did Hélio hold an incredibly insightful seminar, sharing his knowledge and experience with our BJJ community, but he also took the time to assist with two of our Kids BJJ classes.

Seeing our young students learn from, train alongside and be inspired by a BJJ World Champion was something really special.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, got involved and made the most of the opportunity to learn from Hélio.

Look out! Hélio “Soneca” Moreira will be taking and assisting with our Kids BJJ classes today and tomorrow morning.

Even if you don’t usually train on those days, make sure you book in and come along. It’s a great opportunity for our kids to learn from a BJJ World Champion who has also trained countless UFC fighters and high-level athletes.

You never know what you might pick up when you get to learn from someone with this much experience.

Looking back at our recent STORM Program 🌩️🥋

We had a great group of students step up and learn more about what it means to be a leader, from communication and confidence to supporting others on the mats.

These are highly regarded leadership sessions led by Matt Wickham. Matt runs STORM programs throughout the year in Melbourne, as well as bringing the program to our dojo a couple of times each year.

We’re excited to welcome Hélio “Soneca” Moreira to Wickham’s Martial Arts this Friday for a special Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar.

A 7th Degree Coral Belt under Carlos Gracie Jr., Soneca is a highly respected BJJ competitor and coach, with achievements including:

🏆 World Champion (1996)
🏆 Brazilian Champion (1997)
🏆 NAGA Champion (2001)
🏆 Undefeated MMA Record (2-0)

📅 This Friday, 11 September
🕕 6:00pm – 8:30pm
💲 $100 per person

Please note: There will be no regular MMA class this Friday as the seminar will be taking place.
