***CHARCOALS 2026***

Another great season for the charcoals ended with a run out at the Hexagon Rugby fixture hosted by Wahroonga Toothless Tigers - Oldies rugby at Cliff Oval.

Thanks to all the players and supporters for being part of the Eastwood Charcoals over 35's Rugby Union Club this year.

Our last ever game at TG was a significant milestone in our club history and we look forward to the start of a new chapter at our new home in 2027.

The Hexagon Rugby Curry Night and Bathurst Tour are taking place in September, booking details on the Hexagon FB page. Many charcoals are involved in both of these events.

***TG Farewell and 3rd Grade Curtain Raiser***

The Eastwood Charcoals over 35's Rugby Union Club had the privilege of playing on the hallowed turf as a curtain raiser for 3rd grade against an invitational Hexagon Rugby Barbarians side at the last Woods Rugby home game of 2026.

After 43 years of the Charcoals playing at TG, this may have been our farewell game at this fantastic venue and a historic salute to a place that has created so many joyous memories for so many players and supporters during its long history.

Thanks to all the supporters, players and officials for making this game one of the highlights of our season.

The Charcoals return to play at Cliff Oval, Wahroonga on Friday 21st August from 7pm.

***CHARCOALS GALA DAY CANCELLED**

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Eastwood Charcoals over 35's Rugby Union Club gala day planned for August 23rd.

Emails have been sent out informing of this change with further explanation.

We hope to return in 2027, maybe at our new home. Sorry to all those that had planned to come and play.

On Friday night the Mighty Charcoals played game 6 of the Friday night Hexagon Rugby season hosted by Withered Oaks Rugby Club at Dural Park.

Another great turnout from the Charcoals.

On Friday night the Mighty Charcoals played game 4 of the Friday night Hexagon Rugby season hosted by Lindfield Rugby Club Funnel Web Rugby.

As ever, we put on a great show of strength and style with some showpiece tries scored in the wet conditions.

The next game is hosted by Hornsby Golden Oldies - Busted Lions at Mark Taylor Oval on Friday 19th June.

***HEXAGON GAME 3***

The Mighty Charcoals took to the field at Lofberg Oval hosted by KWP Leo's Rugby.

Best and Fairest was awarded to Jimmy Davis for his blistering pace leading to 2 tries. Special mention to Luke Homann for his 40m run.

The match was followed by drink, food and speeches.

Eastwood Charcoals over 35's Rugby Union Club play monthly in the local area on Friday nights in the Hexagon Rugby series. New players are always welcome.

The next game is at Soldiers Memorial Park hosted by Funnel Web Rugby on Friday 22nd May.
