1980 Suzuki LJ80 comp truck
2015 Tuff Truck/ WE Rock compliant Cage.
Vehicle heritage: Tuff truck 2015 (6th place), WE Rock Round 3 (1st) WE Rock round 5 (7th)
Engine: 1996 Suzuki Baleno 1.6 Multipoint Fuel injection
Gearbox: 4 speed Suzuki Vitara auto. Standard shifter with reverse gate removed for quick shift between D and R. RA Designs rail shifter manualises the box. Heavy duty torque covertor.
Transfer case: Suzuki sierra case with Trailgear 6.5 reduction gears and air operated trail gear disconnect. Twin sticks fitted allowing 2h, 2l, 4h, 4l, rear dig. Lots of reinforcement on case and Mighty kong cradle with rock ring intergrated. Rover V8 engine mounts for mounting on low side, tube and bush on upper side.
Tail shafts: Front is a gibbo's 4mm seamless tubed Hilux with near new uni’s. Rear shaft is the same with 6mm seamless tube.
Diffs: Hilux shaved steer diffs F & R with RCV chromo/300m cv’s, dirty thirty chromo inner axles, 4:88 silverback v6 gearsets and solid pinion spacer in v6 heavy duty thirds. ARB airlockers F & R. Stock knuckles with custom hi steer double sheer arms. Front diff has wide track kit with 1.5” spacers. Rear has 3” spacers.
Front Steering: Trail gear 1650 pump, TG orbital and TG 8” ram.
Rear Steering: Holden VL pump, electric/hydraulic solenoid to 8” forklift ram.
Tires and rims: 40 treps @ 60% on 17x9 Dynamic rims with Design fab 17” weld on bead lock kit. All powder coated when built. Front tires run 40kg water per tire for added climbing ability. One trep has a tear in the sidewall but can be repaired. Worst case a tube will need to be run. Currently holding air with "sika" trail repair.
Suspension: Profender 14” coil overs all round. Setup with 3” up travel for crawling. Triple rate kit installed. Profender 2” bump stops set at 1.5” up travel but comes with 3” shims.
Extras info: Optima yellow top battery, saas water and volt gauges, multi pass fan powered auto cooler, custom 21L fuel cell, Warn hi-mount winch mid mounted behind cab, Runva 4500lb rear suck down winch, Honda civic 3 core alloy radiator with spal 12’ fan, 51mm 7075 alloy lower links with ruff stuff 7/8 heim joints, 1.5” tube upper links with 7/8 heims. Triangulated 4 link rear, 3 link front, PMD 4 point harness in date from march last year, ebay race seats, Window nets and windscreen included.
Spare parts: 4 cyl third member built with TG 4.88 gears, spool, solid pinion spacer, all setup ready to go in, spare tail shafts, 2 Dirty thirty chrome short side axles, 3 Dirty thirty chromo long side axles, 7 used but still serviceable dirty thirty chromo cv’s, 1 new dirty thirty chromo CV, spare uni’s, spare rover engine mounts, flexi snorkel for TT mud run, D shackles.
Trailer: Home-made dual axle trailer 2t rated, 10” electric brakes, 13” rims and tires, tool box on the front, 20l jerry can holder, 9kg gas bottle holder, fold down ramps, drive over ladder style guards, spare wheel with spare brake and hub assembly to suit. Needs some love but gets the buggy around fine.
