2026
14th - 15th March - The Bend
After completing a round of TA2 in a leased car last year he decided to buy a used car and have a try at a few round in 2026. The car made its way to the workshop and has been updated to as modern as possible and it made it debut at the Bend at round 1 of the TA2 and the Hitech Oil Series.
The car rolled out of the trailer at the track looking amazing in a new (but similar) paint scheme to what we have become use to in the Aussie Cars in recent years.
During the first practice the car was struggling a little and some changes were made to try and set it up well for qualifying and the best that could be achieved was P7.
The first race had Joel working his way towards the front and finished in P4 showing some good car speed. The second race for the day got the car into P2 and a very good result for the first day.
On day 2 qualified in P7 AGAIN….this was not what was hoped for but it just means a longer way to the front.
Race 3 got us back into P5 at the finish with a fairly straight car so this was meaning it was all about race 4
Started race 4 from 4th on the grid due to a car in front not starting the race and Joel drove well to position himself in P2 quickly in the race and while he was able to challenge the leader for much of the race getting past was not going to be an easy task.
Finishing race 4 in P2 meant we missed out of the podium by 1 point over the weekend….a shame but also a wonderful effort in the first outing in the car. As the plan is now to race all the TA2 rounds this means it’s a good start with points to the year’s championship.
Very exited about the year ahead and there are a few races in different categories also planned and these will all be exiting. Watch this space for more updates.
Well done Joel Heinrich, Bruce Heinrich, Scott Goding, Ashley Jarvis, Glenn & Sara, Wayne and all the others that helped.
