Great Weekend at SMSP

The third round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series was run at Sydney Motorsport Park on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th August.

As it turned out all of Friday was run on wet tyres in wet conditions and Saturday was all on dry tyres in dry conditions.

Friday - Wet Track
Qualified - P5
Race 1 = P3
Good race pace, challenged for 2nd a number of times and a safety car with a couple of laps to go and some confusion with one lap remaining did not help but finished the race in P3.
Race 2 = P3
Dropped back to around 6th at the start (crazy stuff going on in turn 1) but fought through the field to make it back up to third.

Saturday - Dry Track
Qualified - P6
Dry track and first time on race tyres but qualified worse than we had hoped. Finished up in P6 and around a second off the pace. Changes will be made to try and get us back on the pace.

Race 3 - P4
Car has responded to the changes and was able to get up to 4th in a very hard fought race. Quite a few cars with damage at the end but we are in good shape for the final race of the round.

Race 4 - P4
We were on the leaders tails for the start of the race and settled into 4th position, with a few laps to go the shims came out of the steering. Thankfully Joel was able to hold of the challengers over the last couple of laps with steering being all over the place and finished the race in 4th.

Round Result - P3 (Equal)
Overall we finished equal 3rd in points for the round and gained some points on the series leaders. We are still running in 3rd position after 3 rounds

Looking forward to Round 4 at Queensland Raceway mid August.

CR International was fortunate enough to team up again with Whiteline Racing and Joel Heinrich Racing to return to do a round of the Touring Car Masters. This meant we were able to use the #1 on the car and we all had a blast. A pole position and a win in race 2 secured 3rd position in Pro-Masters for the weekend. Well done team…..hope to do it again one day soon 🎥EA Artworks

CR International Racing spent the Easter Break at Mount Panorama for the Hi-Tec Oils 6 Hour Race this year, marking the 10th year of this event.

We teamed up with our friends from Osborns Transport to help their efforts for this race in a M3 BMW. The three drivers were Brett Osborn, Joel Heinrich and Jarred Harper and they drove wonderfully.

We had to change a gearbox in the Friday practice due to a failure and some how obtained one from a wrecking yard in Sydney that was removed from a wrecked car and Equity Views Construction picked it up and shuttled it to the track…..all on Good Friday!!

The team started the race in P28 and after an hour or so we were running in the top 10 and first in class.

Unfortunately during the day the wheels fell off….literally!!

Front right came adrift causing an off-road excursion at the start of pit straight just over 2 hours into the race. Repaired and back on track (11 laps down) the car and drivers continued on making solid progress only to have the left fear wheel come off with 45 min of the race to go…..this caused a DNF but we were still proud of the achievements, the team and drivers and will likely be back again next year.

We were also supporting Anthony Di Mauro in Aussie Racing Cars this year and he was able to drive his car to victory in the last race winning his first for his career as well as the round and is leading the championship. Great effort to all the team.

2026
14th - 15th March - The Bend

After completing a round of TA2 in a leased car last year he decided to buy a used car and have a try at a few round in 2026. The car made its way to the workshop and has been updated to as modern as possible and it made it debut at the Bend at round 1 of the TA2 and the Hitech Oil Series.

The car rolled out of the trailer at the track looking amazing in a new (but similar) paint scheme to what we have become use to in the Aussie Cars in recent years.

During the first practice the car was struggling a little and some changes were made to try and set it up well for qualifying and the best that could be achieved was P7.

The first race had Joel working his way towards the front and finished in P4 showing some good car speed. The second race for the day got the car into P2 and a very good result for the first day.

On day 2 qualified in P7 AGAIN….this was not what was hoped for but it just means a longer way to the front.

Race 3 got us back into P5 at the finish with a fairly straight car so this was meaning it was all about race 4

Started race 4 from 4th on the grid due to a car in front not starting the race and Joel drove well to position himself in P2 quickly in the race and while he was able to challenge the leader for much of the race getting past was not going to be an easy task.

Finishing race 4 in P2 meant we missed out of the podium by 1 point over the weekend….a shame but also a wonderful effort in the first outing in the car. As the plan is now to race all the TA2 rounds this means it’s a good start with points to the year’s championship.

Very exited about the year ahead and there are a few races in different categories also planned and these will all be exiting. Watch this space for more updates.

Well done Joel Heinrich, Bruce Heinrich, Scott Goding, Ashley Jarvis, Glenn & Sara, Wayne and all the others that helped.

Well I guess you could say that’s a wrap for the Touring Car Masters 2025 season and the trip to Sandown was certainly worth it. Joel Heinrich, Whiteline Racing and all the team secured the championship as well as being awarded the team of the year. Fantastic results to top off the year.
