Round 8 and season wrap up.
Finished the season on a high with round 8 of the NSW champs. The old girl ran a 7.97 @ 169.08 for my first 7 second pass. We won 3 out of 3 rounds on the day but missed out on a place in the final by ET in round 3.
Great fun day and we had some close racing, which made for some excitement, especially on the last pass where I went 150MPH while on fire.
Congrats to Darren for the win and Alex for the runner up.

We finished the season strongly with 80 points for each of the last 3 rounds and a win in round 4. We went 3 out of 3 in our last 3 events (Rds. 7 and 8 and Grudge Kings) and ended up 3rd in the Championship. Which is a great result considering we tried a few things throughout the season, some of which didn’t work as planned and we had some repairs to do as well. We had to freshen up the top end after a burnt piston and had some burnt wiring to repair after a broken rocker and a big backfire.
Congrats to Ryno for taking out the championship in his first year and Deanne for runner up.

UPDATE: There was a point score error which has now been rectified. We actually finished the championship in 4th place. Congrats to Brendan for 3rd place

I say “we” a lot when doing these updates. I may ride the bike, but a lot happens behind the scenes, and I couldn’t do what I do on my own.
I have to thank my crew Deann from Exta-Soy Candles & Home Fragrances , Terry Doc RI Sullivan and Jim from Force 9 Surfboards Team work makes the dream work. Also need to thank the following for help and support along the way
Azzopardi Racing
Rams Head Service
Mick Hone Motorcycles
Ballistic Performance Parts
American Performance Engineering
A big shout out to the rest of the Extreme Bike Family, nothing but support and encouragement from the guys and gals, with a few laughs and great food thrown in for good measure.
Nothing like a heads up, pro tree starts and holding it pinned ‘til the end.

Quick update after Round 7 Speed Adict NSW champs at Sydney Dragway.
We had a different clutch in the old girl and we’re trying different sets ups and run a few 8.4s and an 8.3.
Got a handle on it in the last pass with a 1.234 60 and 3.395 330. However I had to pedal it as was heading for the centre line and ended up with an 8.437 and low MPH.
Had a couple of close runs and a ball of fun . “Racing Extreme Bike is far out man”
Congrats to Mike for runner up and Ryan for winning.
Thanks to my crew as usual , Terry, Jim and Deann. Now we turn it around for Grudge Kings next week. Hopefully I can keep it pinned 🤣

Combined race report rounds 5 and 6.

Round 5 didn't go as planned. We put some bigger cams a little while ago and I don't think my head liked them.
Checked for coil bind etc and all seemed good. However, it broke a rocker in the first round and had a massive backfire from the carbs and scorched half the wiring.
Rider didn't help. I forgot to go back to 1st gear after the burnout so we needed a new clutch as well.

The one pass we got down the track it went 8.54 @ 164.43, sixty was good 1.297 so things looked promising until the rocker broke.

Seems we had valve float and couldn’t get enough spring pressure for the bigger cam. Valve stems and seats were hammered so we went back to the original smaller cams.
Shout out to Rams Head Service who serviced the valves and seats and set the spring pressure up to suit the cams. All in time to hit the track for round 6.

Round 6 and the bike is going well.

Rider needs more work……

First qualifier went a PB 8.301 @ 167.03MPH
2nd qualifier bike stalled whilst staging and I didn't catch it and not allowed to restart with remote starter.

First round the bike went another PB 8.063 @167.57MPH for a win.
2nd round I got a bike out of shape of the hit and went 8.633@ 166.50MPH for a loss.
3rd round went 8.257 @ 168.45MPH (PB for MPH)

Not enough to make the final but happy overall. PBs for ET and MPH.

Congrats to Alex for the win and Brendan for runners up.
It was a big round of PBs, congrats to all who cracked a PB in ET or MPH or both!

Shout out my crew Terry Doc RI Sullivan jim from Force 9 Surfboards and Deann from Exta-Soy Candles & Home Fragrances

Thanks to my sponsors

Thanks Azzopardi Racing for much help and advice.

And a final shout out to all our Extreme bike family. Really love the camaraderie.

After a top end freshen up, head service and new cams we went out to for round 4 Speed Adict NSW Champs. There was a shift button issue first qualifier which was fixed ready for the next and the bike went a PB 8.398 @ 163.59 MPH which qualified us in 3rd spot. First round we went another PB 8.382 @ 164.13 MPH. The bike slowed as the tracked cooled but we managed to win 3 out of 3 which was enough to win the round, due to a lack of a final round. Safety was paramount as the track continued to cool and due to delays it was well into the night before finals were run and it was deemed unsafe to run a final. Couldn’t be happier with how the bike is going. Rider continues to need a tune 😀 Shout out to my crew Deann Terry and Jim . Thanks to Azzopardi Racing for much help with the bike, for fixing up my slightly scorched head and for some pro valve springs and titanium retainers. All our genuine Suzuki parts thanks to great place for parts to keep the old girl going. Congrats to the Runner up Ryan, thanks for your sportsmanship, great to see you going so well👍. Such a buzz to race in the Extreme Bike bracket, the camaraderie is fantastic.

Round 3 Speed Adict NSW track champs race report. Well, finally seemed to get the nitrous working as it should. First Qualifier the bike went a PB 8.572 @ 161.88 MPH. Second qualifier the bike slowed to a 8.789 @ 154.17 and didn’t feel right at the top end. We had an oil leak issue which we fixed but on start up there was a miss in the engine and we decided to call it a day. Back at the Timewarp dragbike racing factory it was discovered that we had scuffed a piston. The top end was due for a freshen up so we will throw a set of pistons in and get back into it as soon as we can. Thanks to for the killer photo.

Well, first 2 rounds of the Speed Adict NSW Champs have been run. Haven’t posted much lately, not much to report really. We are still trying to sort our nitrous set up. Nitrous seemed to come on off the hit and then not make any difference to ET or MPH. After the first round last race(round 2) we checked the operation of the nitrous and discovered it came on 100% straight away and then shut off after a second or so, despite having a delay and ramp time program Rd into the controller. Back at home after the meeting it was discovered a dodgy relay was to blame. So, think we are sorted for round 3.
( photo thanks to cackling pipes round 1)

I haven’t posted much lately as not much racing going on.
Due to “administrative” issues the 2023 Speed Adict NSW championships for bikes was reduced to 5 rounds instead of 8. We managed to come away with the championship and have some people to thank. A shout out to board and management for awarding the championship for all the bike classes and to the track staff, with out you we couldn’t do what we do. Thanks to Speed Adict clothing for sponsoring the series. Thanks to my crew Deann, Branno, Terry and Jim. Big thank you to Leonard and Deanne from Azzopardi Racing so much help from those guys and much appreciated. Shout out to Jim for much help, parts and advice. A thank you to Rob .performance.parts for advice and parts and a shoutout to my sponsors, great place for all your Suzuki parts needs and for decals and tees. And finally a big south out to all the extreme bike racers, it’s a real blast racing with you all. Looking forward to the first round of 2024 next week

Haven’t posted anything in a while. Just haven’t felt like it and it’s not been a priority. So here’s a catch up of our last two events. 2 weeks ago we went out to the Fastron Race Day it was a nice relaxed day and heaps of fun. The bike managed to run a PB 8.617 @ 151.15 MPH. Stoked to have finally cracked the 150. Managed a runners up trophy as well. Last weekend we went out to the Speed Adict NSW champs also . We qualified 6th with a 8.707 @ 148.9 MPH which put us in the bottom half of the field. That meant I had to race some of the big guns in the rounds of racing. First round was a disappointing [email protected]. For a loss. We made some tyre pressure and wheelie bars adjustments and came back with a [email protected] for a loss. Last round was a non event with both bikes breaking the beams before the tree was activated. Still had a ball, great fun racing in Extreme Bike absolutely love it. Congrats to Leonard for his record 219.29MPH pass, Brandon for runners up and Brendan for the win. Shout out to all the Extreme Bike competitors, it’s a real blast racing with you guys and gals 👍

Looks like Timewarp 2 all set for Grudge Kings July 1. Maintainance/mods all done. We had a tweak of the cylinder head with some more porting and a fresh cut of the seats and valves. All cam cap threads are now helicoiled and inlets drilled and tapped ready for nitrous later on. Block has been scalloped for nozzle clearance. Engine has also head a few little oil system mods as well. Shout out to Azzopardi Racing for all the machine work and for the porting and valve seats. Shout out to .performance.parts for a trick stainless oil filter. We are ready to party😜

A little bit of a sad day here at Timewarp Dragbike Racing HQ. The original Timewarp 1 has been sold on has moved on to a new home. Had a ball on that bike and learnt a lot about racing dragbikes on the old girl. The upside is I know it has gone to a good home and will be looked after.

Gotta love that, the old girl liked the night air and ran a PB for ET , MPH and 60 ft.
