Vale Peter.

Peter was involved in almost every role with Deaf Football Victoria - as a player, coach, team manager and his favourite role as President, which was a rare achievement. He had a very big heart and supported DFV tirelessly right up until his passing.

Peter and I held different roles with DAF, yet we worked together very well. I respected him greatly for his strong involvement and unwavering support in Deaf Football.

It’s not a goodbye - I’ll see you up there one day.

Mark Durdin OAM - DAF life member.

Dear Members and Deaf Football Community,

We invite you to join us as Deaf Football Victoria (DFV) pays tribute to a true legend of Deaf football.

Peter was a giant in our community. His journey with Deaf football began many years ago, and he carried with him a wealth of experience, history, and stories that shaped DFV into what it is today. It is honestly hard to name a single role he did not fill. He played the game, captained teams, coached the Big V, and contributed tirelessly behind the scenes. Peter served on the committee and generously stepped into roles such as Secretary, President, Team Manager, and team selector. There was no position he hadn’t taken on, always with commitment and pride.

In recognition of his extraordinary service, Peter was a well-deserved Life Member of DFV and was deeply respected across the Deaf football community.

We will always remember his signing, his number stories, and the way he could tell the same story time and time again — and it would still make us laugh every single time. It was always a pleasure to watch and learn from him.

Peter, you will be deeply missed. We will raise either a VB or a strong coffee in your honour as we celebrate your life, your legacy, and everything you gave to Deaf football.

Rest in peace.

On behalf of the Deaf Football Victoria Committee and Members of
