Olympian Ernie Simon had a vision: to put Australian fencing on the world map. His lifelong aim has been to raise Australian fencing to international standards, winning credibility and respect on the international fencing scene. Ernie coached Seamus Robinson to become Australia’s first and only Cadet Épée World Champion in 1991. Our coaches at the Melbourne Fencing Centre have coached multiple Nat

ional Champions (in all age groups) and International Representations at World Championships, Commonwealth Fencing and Olympic Games. Everybody at the Melbourne Fencing Centre shares this passion and love for fencing. We develop children, youths, and adults into strong fencers, committed to fairness, respect, and cooperation. We come together at the highest level to teach excellence in fencing and inspire you to become the best you can be.

Al’s knowledge and expertise is a great loss to Fencing and
will leave an irreplaceable gap in Australia’s Fencing future.

Due to the Victorian Government announcement today to shut down all non-essential activities within Victoria in order to combat the spread of Coronavirus,
the Melbourne Fencing Centre will be closed immediately
until further notice –
